We won't risk doing it prior to draft night and risk having to use one of those picks on Owens or Windhager though.

Interesting from the Pies perspective, they now have to have 7 list spots open to take all of those picks to the draft which I assume they have to just in case a bid comes for Daicos at 1.

Means they'll have to delist 6 players in total, I'm not sure how many they've delisted so far but I'm sure they'll to do more.

Not really at this stage. I am sure closer to the draft and after testing is done both physically and mentally stuff will come out.

We are in a good position though. 5 Picks inside 28 is a haul and 3 in a row gives us great scope.

Maybe not, but it seems Owens has shot up a few draft boards recently with most saying top 20. I, for one, would be happy if the Tigers took him at 17(19). Windhager is the interesting one from a pick trade perspective and it would be a gamble from the Saints to trade for 28 to then have to use it to match a bid, so as you said the Saints would need to have a deal set up where pick 28 is due and then trade on the night, trouble is I don't think we'd risk 28 for the Saints F2 which could well be 30+ so there'd have to be a sweetener of some sort.

Why would we only take 3 picks next year though?

There's just as much chance the team crashes and burns with age compared to resurges to finish top 4. So taking 3 picks after finishing mid table won't be a great look.

The value on the deal is bad either way IMO. But 3 picks in a row has some extra value to it I guess.

remember besides 2022 3 picks we take, there is pre season pick plus mid season draft that gives tigers greater flexibility to not have 2 years minimum on our list.

He had a blinder earlier in the season but got an injury (cant remember what it was) that put him out then covid and not much else seen
He is a good size but questionable kicking similar to Knevitt. Would be a great pick with our later picks if still on the board

very much a high risk high reward type but he is the type we should be considering

Definitely interesting, Twomey did say that there was interest in him from a team inside 20 so who knows, might be a choice between him and Knevitt?

TBH I can only go with what Matt Clarke said last year when trading out our 1st for Geelongs 1st this year ie: Thought we'd be in a better position to choose with a bit more exposure. Obviously that hasn't happened so we could just as likely do the same this year, whether that's one of our 1sts, one or two of our 2nds, or pull one of our 2nd rounds next year in combination to get another 1st I don't know. I'm pretty sure that the club will only take 4 picks in this draft so 1 will have to go, 7 + 15 have already been put up but we'd have to get either pick 2 or 3, don't know if that'll happen and I think we're better off with those 2 picks anyway.

Wake up! Gold Coast don’t want picks in this years draft. They have no list spots. The only way you will get Gold Coast pick 3 is to give them future picks.

One thing that jumped out at me there was Butler to GWS. Probably right as he is rated and what they need. Likely to be a player imo.

I’m not sure what the incentive would be for Richmond to do a deal with Saints without having pick 9 involved to be honest.

Pick 28 (now our last pick) is I believe tied to St Kilda (Jack Higgins trade). If we do that for your next years second, all it would take is the Saints to finish above 10th next season (which you’d say is a better than fair chance) for your next years second to be worse off than this years second, and Richmond lose out.

Therefore I think you’ll need to add something to make it worth Richmond’s while. A future third May also work, but based on what we paid for pick 27 (three thirds), I’m not sure that will be enough.
