Possible, but 28 plus our future 2nd for their future 1st would be better. FWIW I think all the talk around King to Saints is just BF BSIf we have 26, 27 and 28 I could see St. Kilda enquiring about our 28 for a future 2nd with a 'gentleman's agreement' that we don't bid on one of their NGA's if they're still on the table. May not be a bad result

So we have a better hand this year and a stronger hand next year. If the Pies come say 6th, that's pick 42 before FA compo etc. So we could well have traded 38 and 40 for 27 and 42. That is scarily good if the Pies aren't great next year. If the Pies are bottom 4 it's roughly 38 for 27.
They must reckon they are going to the finals next year. We'll see.

I think this is something we will look at doing as a live trade on draft night for sure.If we have 26, 27 and 28 I could see St. Kilda enquiring about our 28 for a future 2nd with a 'gentleman's agreement' that we don't bid on one of their NGA's if they're still on the table. I can't see us trading our first, whether we think we can get King or notPossible, but 28 plus our future 2nd for their future 1st would be better. FWIW I think all the talk around King to Saints is just BF BS
Richmond gave away the future third
..
Nailed that one. Are you hearing anything else we might do?
Maybe not, but it seems Owens has shot up a few draft boards recently with most saying top 20. I, for one, would be happy if the Tigers took him at 17(19). Windhager is the interesting one from a pick trade perspective and it would be a gamble from the Saints to trade for 28 to then have to use it to match a bid, so as you said the Saints would need to have a deal set up where pick 28 is due and then trade on the night, trouble is I don't think we'd risk 28 for the Saints F2 which could well be 30+ so there'd have to be a sweetener of some sort.I think this is something we will look at doing as a live trade on draft night for sure.
We won't risk doing it prior to draft night and risk having to use one of those picks on Owens or Windhager though.

Some are saying top 20 for Owens. Not most though. Twomey still has him outside 30.Maybe not, but it seems Owens has shot up a few draft boards recently with most saying top 20. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that with one less pick in 2021, we have more list spot open, sign stack asap, eliminates the PSD threat rumored
also maybe we have something cooking with all these picks to move higher
here is hoping
We just got Collingwoods pick 27.
remember besides 2022 3 picks we take, there is pre season pick plus mid season draft that gives tigers greater flexibility to not have 2 years minimum on our list. Why would we only take 3 picks next year though?
There's just as much chance the team crashes and burns with age compared to resurges to finish top 4. So taking 3 picks after finishing mid table won't be a great look.
The value on the deal is bad either way IMO. But 3 picks in a row has some extra value to it I guess.
Take it to the bank...What’s the bet Carlton fans brag that they got the player at 25 that we wanted at 26
I’d like the club to have a crack at Knevitt or Long as they both are good marks and do alright up forward. He had a blinder earlier in the season but got an injury (cant remember what it was) that put him out then covid and not much else seen
He is a good size but questionable kicking similar to Knevitt. Would be a great pick with our later picks if still on the board
very much a high risk high reward type but he is the type we should be considering
from early in 2021 (espn)
" A goalkicking midfielder with seven goals to his name through three games, Ned Long has been one of the early standouts in the NAB League. While Long is damaging forward of centre, and hits the scoreboard at will, he's equally capable through the midfield as a strong contested ball winner and tackler. At 192cm, Long is one of this year's best tall midfielders. "
Definitely interesting, Twomey did say that there was interest in him from a team inside 20 so who knows, might be a choice between him and Knevitt? Some are saying top 20 for Owens. Not most though. Twomey still has him outside 30.
He could fall anywhere from 15-35 though so it doesn't make sense to have a pick in that area unless it's done straight before the live pick.
I doubt you guys are done moving picks yet.
Do you think your aim will be to move up from 7, move up from the 20's or both?
Wake up! Gold Coast don’t want picks in this years draft. They have no list spots. The only way you will get Gold Coast pick 3 is to give them future picks.Still think we should be targeting pick 2 or 3 if there is a player we want that is likely to be gone by 7. Surely GC will want to aquire a couple of decent picks seeing as their 2nd isn't until 97.
UsWho gave the future third rounder, us or them?

One thing that jumped out at me there was Butler to GWS. Probably right as he is rated and what they need. Likely to be a player imo.1. North -JHF

Id puke if we took any of the 3 players listed at 26,27, 28 instead of Sinn who is not listed in your top picksOne thing that jumped out at me there was Butler to GWS. Probably right as he is rated and what they need. Likely to be a player imo.
