It may well be draft night but we all believe that 38 and 40 will be traded either before draft night or on draft night, nonetheless pick 27 would be awesome to get as it would give us 26, 27, 28

Pies handling of their list and player payments have been disastrous.
For most of those pics 36, 43, 46, 48, 55, 58, (points will be eaten up on Daicos), they have offered pick 58 to Dogs, low balling so not sure what will happen there. I don't think they will take more than 3 players in the draft, as last year they picked 8 kids, 6 in the ND and 2 in the RD

Daicos plus 2 others, that's why i hope we get 27 and they get 38 and 40 off us.

Btw Parker has resigned with the club.
Pies have only 1 list spot vacant, they will have to delist 5 uncontracted players and then use their picks to redraft them + Daicos. I doubt they need any more picks in this draft and the have SFA next year as well.

Our best chance is to nab the Dog's pick 23.

Interesting how many players Richmond have the last three drafts that are gone or out of contract. The mature players long term futures are unknown too.

I wonder how much dow. Ralphsmith. RioliM. Ryan. Will come into the plans when thinking about the next two draft pools

Motlop or Knevitt
Yeah, I know theirs a contrast in these 2. A small forward and a big tall mid. If for argument's sake we do get pick 27 off the pies, then id make one amendment, Long out (who I had at pick 38) and Motlop or Knevitt in. I'd go Motlop first, purely to give us a good balance of picks. 2 tough mids, 1 key forward, 1 key back and a small dynamic forward.

7 - Hobbs
15 - Goater
26 - Williams
27 - Motlop or Knevitt
28 - Bazzo
Would also consider Burgoyne and Butler at 27

I’m so bloody excited for this draft
Even if we don’t trade up we’re gonna get 2 out of

Ward
Erasmus
Hobbs
Rachele
Andrew
Gibcus
Johnson
Goater
Amiss
Sinn
Van Rooyen
Roberts
Draper

We’ll get 2 beauties
Then hopefully a few sleepers in the 20’s. Massive draft coming up and the best we’ve had really since Gold Coast and Gws came in and raided the drafts when we were crap

Wish it was sooner

As long as we don't f**k it up and trade out our draft picks and go for mature age top ups instead...

I do think a state league mature Key Forward is a must at the moment too with a later pick. We only have Jack, Lynch and Ryan as forwards, now that CCJ and Chol have gone. Ryan is still a long way off, so if one of Jack or Lynch go down, we are somewhat screwed as the other will be triple teamed and next to useless. Someone like Tyler Keitel from the WAFL would be a solid addition.

God we keep overrating dead ordinary players. RCD just does not get enough possession. His lack of tank is an excuse. If he wasn’t an early pick, he’d be off the list.
Reckon hard gut running mids is every bit important as clearance specialists. Not much use being the best clearance player in the competition if you can’t get to the next contest.
Re RCD I think he showed just enough this year at AFL for the club to be still invested. Clarke mentioned him in a recent interview as having great upside but a work in progress.

14 Amiss
15 Johnson
16 Sinn

25 Taylor
26 Motlop

Still a lot of decent players left on the board after 30 including Bazzo and Aleer, both fine intercepting KPD's.

Liking Knevitt at 28.
Hope he’s a player we are seriously considering with those mid-late 20s picks

Might fit well being a bit older @ 20

196/84

Not sure l am sold on Hobbs;
Can we please get your take on him as l think there’s others available at pick 7 l rate higher ?

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com
I do like his inside game but from what footage we have seen (limited) he appears to lack spread and burst from congestion but you do find some players (elite) that can play high level of football with these traits but is hobbs at their level ?

Disappointing that the combine is cancelled as that would have been a good indication to his pace and athleticism which is a concern
happy at #15 but i also think #7 is probably a little to early. Lets hope he is already selcted at our pick so we dont have this choice but more so another like Gibcus/Erasmus/Ward has slid to our pick

The more Im watching Roberts the less Im liking him, actually starting to really dislike him. Almost has to be carrying something or deliberately tanking his value.

If not shaping as a massive slider come draft day.

Would you not consider a forward at 26?
Van Rooyen, Amiss ,or other

I did Jack Williams, Amiss will be gone, JVR as we know can play either end but I would be surprised if he was still on the board at pick 26 let alone 28.
I reckon Freo grabs Amiss with one of their top 10 picks.

23. Jack Williams (East Fremantle/WA)
Key-forward, 195cm, 91kg

The strong-marking forward exploded in 2021, booting 40 goals in 15 WAFL Colts matches and was No. 1 ranked player for score involvements. The 195cm first-round prospect, who is terrific one-on-one and rarely beating in the air, can also play in defence as he showed in the early stages of his bottom-age season when he took eight intercept marks in the first four matches. Williams took nine marks against South Australia in August and was one of only two goalkickers in the AFL Academy game against Geelong’s VFL team in April.

Dan says: Showcased his consistency in scoring above 100 ranking points in all but one game at WAFL Colts level – no mean feat for a key forward.

Jordan says: Has pushed his name up near fellow WA tall Van Rooyen on draft board’s after a standout season.

Would also consider Burgoyne and Butler at 27

I would have Butler ahead of Jesse Motlop but don't think Butler gets to 27. Burgoyne is likely to be around that mark, but he's more a midfielder/defender and I think we have enough running defenders and I have 2 mids already in my 5 "Hobbs and Goater". That's why I went Motlop as he is likely to be around our mid 20's picks.

Jase Burgoyne had a nice game against WA , Kid looks like a classy mover and just knows where to be and chooses the best option
Has some nice moves and weaves through traffic. Looks like port will get a nice bargain with a bid expected in the 30+ range
