Lynch who ? ;)

We always held hope Cj would stay and the club rates him highly and will have a contract tabled
Still not confident he stays though.

I could see him fitting in perfectly at Carlton with TDK & Harry
ideal Casboult replacement

Great recruiting by Tigers, diligently bringing in quality youngsters with modest picks too, without much fuss, they get the job done right no matter the position on the field.

This is how is see it too, rotating with TDK between ruck and fwd. Sends Pittonet to 1st backup in the VFL and Casboult off into the sunset.

What would you rate his trade value at the moment? Prior to the weekend I would have had him around the mid-2nd round mark, but now not so sure..

I rate him highly (not just because he is a tiger player ) But before he was drafted , Was captain in the sanfl kiddie's team and a leader (until stack took him to the rippers in queensland)

But he is a serious talent and 200+ game player that has vice like hands and a very good kick. I would love to keep him at the club and go with a 3 tall foward line as the eagles do with Lynch,CJ,Riewoldt playing further up the ground.

If reports are to be believed Richmond had 5 clubs asking about him and GWS offering up a late 1st rounder which got turned down, But he was contracted
But if i was doing the trade and Carlton were the preferred club.
Out: CJ +2nd rounder (#30)
In : Carlton 1st (#10)

But as i said I rate him highly

Merrett and Billings for free (in terms of picks) would of course be huge, and I suppose we have enough inside midfielders to focus on other pressing needs.

Shai Bolton is still out of contract and despite the very likely Carr shenanigans - we should be doing everything we can to get his signature. Skillful, quick, aggressive, versatile and young.
If we wanted him, we should've gotten him 3 years ago. Ship's sailed; if you pay for him now, you're going to paying for his peak.

We need to be looking at a) players who will become him (Bobby Hill, for example, has a similar skillset but is more of a genuine forward pocket; Brisbane has Keldean Coleman who is rawer but could be anything) or b) players who are out of sight out of mind, as Prestia/Caddy were when Richmond got them.

The problem with Williams/Saad isn't that we got them, but what we paid to get them. Newnes/Fogarty are better trades, purely because both players have played significant ones footy and didn't take us out of the first round to do it. If Luke Breust wants to go around again (if Eddie retires at the end of the year) getting him in with the promise of coaching afterwards would make him an interesting proposition as someone with modern understanding of how forward lines should function.

He would want to be a very good young player to be offering up what could be a single figure pick, after losing Pick 8 for Saad which in the short term has been a bust.

Agreed and its still early days but 200cm 102kgs Fwd/Ruck 21 year olds
for effectively pick #20 where he was selected 4 years ago (after pick calculations using #8 out & #30 in which is not always a good way to look at these things)

Its kind of like TDK being traded out for Carlton , Both players are the same age and have had significant development and will be ready to go for the next 10 years.

I think you would be more assured of the player CCJ will become than a 18 year old kid that may be selected mid 1st round

Your trade proposal is reasonable , but I’d prefer to see a little more consistency and regular team contribution, because sadly I think our 1st this year will close to a pick 5 or 6 range.
I also like Cerra, plenty of upside in his game , good skills and size only draw back a little one passed, Adam too would be an asset.
CJ certainly is fine young prospect,
the little I’ve seen of him.

I am probably Bias as i have seen alot more of him at VFL level in 2019 as i was attending alot of Richmond VFL games that year and we won the flag in the VFL
I think Carlton will win more games from now on and should end up with 9 maybe 10 wins.

Im actually discussing this with my carlton mate and he came up with an interesting trade which i kind of liked so i'll run it past this board
all just rambling but here goes

Say Carlton finished bottom 6 and Cripps decided to leave and come to Richmond for $750k x 5 year deal as a free agent
Carlton dont match and collect the Pick #7 then Richmond trade CCJ to Carlton for 2021 & 2022 3rd rounders

Then we trade pick 7 for Shai Bolton and Liam Baker....

You would have to throw in your 1st born for Shai Bolton

I would rather lose Dusty at this point in time and we cant trade Baker he is Dimma's foster child.
But 2 years ago when Baker was not getting regular games i mentioned on here that he is a player that the blues should be in his ear and was very quickly told to GAGF and what would blues want with Richmond rubbish. I wish i was good enough to pull up that post but this type of IT ability is beyond me :(

Yeah I really rate Baker, hoping Stocker develops along the same lines.

Time to play the kids

B: Parks Jones Saad
HB: Stocker Weiters Williams
C: Doc Walsh LOB
HF: Martin McKay SPS
F: Owies Casboult JSOS
R: TDK Cripps Setterfield
I/C: Honey Dow Fogarty E. Curnow
Sub: Murph to get to 300

Carrol, Philp, Durdin, Kemp, Ramsay to all get some games by end of year

imo players like LOB, Honey, Dow have to come in and be given more important roles. Same with Stocker and Setters

Yep, they identify players that fit their desired desired style of play which makes for an easier transition to AFL footy.
Conversely, Carlton has tended to go for BPA regardless of fit and then try to make it work.

Philp out for the year.

Durdin miles away imo.

Yes to the other three if in form.

This is utter shit.

I know it won't happen but if Harry did ask for a trade to * we should do what Dildoro did to us over Saad and ask for Nik Cox and AMT and a first round pick and haggle down from there . F**K him and f**k * .
Parish, McGrath, Ridley, Cox, AMT, and maybe chuck in their 1st and Jones on top I guess...

If he was to leave Richmond, which is very unlikely as Chol will be the one to go, there would not be any change given back from a top 10 pick.
