If only Harry had Fevola’s footy IQ & instincts , CFC would top of the table.I hope Harry learns to read the play like Fev. Part of the reason our game plan appeared to be “kick it to Fev” was that he always presented himself so well and made kicking to him the easiest option for our midfielders.
A few times this year our midfielders had it in space and looked forward and hesitated because it wasn’t clear where Harry needed the ball to be kicked. Then the pressure comes on the midfielder and the delayed kick is compromised.
I hope we get the three headed monster of Harry, Charlie and Gov going this year so they create space for each other and isolate the most favourable match ups.

Wouldn't be surprised, if no other club jumps at Hawthorn's fire sale, that we make a late offer on a player or two. Would have to be heavily in our favour though you'd think. Hawks are hoping that there will be a bidding war, but that doesn't seem to be happening, so might be able to secure a bargain late in the piece. If that happens, it's bad news for Lochie.Could be.

I'm using Aphrodite's list again https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/thre...list-and-contract-status.368412/post-72521456 - thanks, it's very useful
So what is the minimum we still have to do now to enter this ND?
I'm assuming that we'll have delist one more senior player - Newnes? But, has he got a contract trigger or something?
We may/ should delist Cottrell too - but, he is a rookie
We've only got three picks in the ND:
- 25 - draft a KPP
- 64 - draft a pacy fwd
- 82 - rookie promotion - Kennedy?
That would leave us with 36 Senior Players for 2022 - is that right?
2021
4. Lochie O'Brien
5.Sam Petrevski-Seton (Traded to WC)
26. Luke Parks (Rookie)
32. Jack Newnes
33.Sam Ramsay (Delisted 7/10/21)
39. Oscar McDonald (SSP Rookie)
40.Michael Gibbons (Promoted to Snr list) (Delisted 7/10/21)
44. Matthew Owies (Cat B International Rookie) - (to be retained as a Cat B Rookie)
46. Matthew Cottrell (2nd yr rookie)
2022 List consists of:-
34 Senior players
4 Category A Rookies
1 SSP Rookie
2 MSD Rookies
0 Category A International Rookie
1 Category B International Rookie
0 Category B Rookies
So then it looks like one, two or all three of Cottrell, Parks and Boyd will be delisted if LOB is retained.Limits: Senior (between 36-38); Cat-A Rookie (max 6); Cat-B Rookie (max 2) Total 44. Total Senior + Cat-A: 42
Current: 34 Senior (34), Cat-A Rookies (7), Cat-B Rookie (1 - Owies). Total 42. Total Senior + Cat-A: 41
Must add: 3 to senior, either via draft or rookie upgrade (
If we upgrade, say, Kennedy, it brings Cat-A Rookie list within the max limit. We could then just use 2 draft picks, as you suggest.
New: 34 Senior (37), Cat-A Rookies (6), Cat-B Rookie (1 - Owies). Total 44. Total Senior + Cat-A: 43
In this scenario, we break one limit - the total of senior and Cat-A Rookies is one too many. So at the very least we need to remove one more player. Can come from either list. Most likely, we will remove more than this. If no more trades, I'd think we'll cut 2-3 rookies, and keep LOB on the senior list.
I'd say so, yes.So then it looks like one, two or all three of Cottrell, Parks and Boyd will be delisted if LOB is retained.
If only Harry had Fevola's flakey personality and became too much of a handful for the club... it's all relative. For the record, I liked Fev at a time when it was fashionable to criticise him and misinterpret what motivated his brain farts. However; Fev, Carlton, and ultimate success was not exactly a match made in heaven. Harry just came off of a Coleman Medal and AA selection and will only get better so I don't know what you people are on about. By the way, Fev's speed over the first five metres was elite so it wasn't all 'footy brain'.If only Harry had Fevola’s footy IQ & instincts , CFC would top of the table.
Fevola, was great CFC footy minds, amazingly quick intuition, not athletically quick but very few can get closes to their footy brain.
you selfish bastard, LOB...........So then it looks like one, two or all three of Cottrell, Parks and Boyd will be delisted if LOB is retained.
And, he should very carefully consider any offer to socialise with those three any time soon.you selfish bastard, LOB...........
Have a close look at the not really shepherd by Stevens for, I think, Scotland. Compare that effort to Stockers'.
excellent point, he'd have been in no position to be laying shepherds on anyone - says something about our preparedness to send a player out like that.....It pains me to defend Nick Stevens, in any context. But it is worth noting that this Round 3 match was his last of the year, owing to a neck injury, and he was probably playing under duress as that game went on.
But for a well timed hip and shoulder...excellent point, he'd have been in no position to be laying shepherds on anyone - says something about our preparedness to send a player out like that.....
We already have young mid prospects like Carroll and Philp who are waiting in the wings.I would go
25:Best mid available
64: KPP
82: Best talent
Rookie: I don't think we have a spot? But if so maybe Akeui

25 on kpd imo
It depends on whether we rate the ones that are still there. Swings and Roundabouts... and all that stuff. We already have young mid prospects like Carroll and Philp who are waiting in the wings.
25 on kpd imo
bit cruel using fev as a comparison - I still get the gasps watching the accuracy of his long shots for goal - no better example than this happy little game - watch this and don't get goosebumps..........
also at 1.04 the single worst example of the newly introduced hands in the back rule I ever saw........
That is nice watching. You forget how good he was, that goal at 2.27 from outside 50, sublime.
Salaries that may come off the books in the next year or two for varying reasons :
O’Brien Fogarty McGovern Jones Docherty Plowman Marchbank Newman Newnes Curnow Setterfield
We are well placed to identify our future needs and address them …
I'd suggest this is Dow's last season at CFC if he doesn't really show something (and I hope he does).
