Would be curious to see just how trigger happy the mods are on the aflw threads.

In the interests of equality surely you’d have the same standards across all threads on bigfooty.

Mods arent a hive mind. If someone specifically registers an account as "awfl" and then posts only in AFLW threads in a troll like fashion, im pretty much assuming its a troll.

We've got 18 clubs in the AFLW, no other team comp in Australia, men or women can manage it.
It's an enormous achievement, and I reckon it's fantastic.

To my knowledge there are at least 22 AFLW players from Ireland.
Today there are very few distinct positions in AFL and it hasn't stopped representative football.
If you formed an Australian AFLW side then they'd most probably be playing "out-of-position" as well.

If each AFLW team had two Irish girls playing week in week out, maybe, but even then, I would still expect the best of all the 18 teams to give them a bit of a touch up.

I would expect Irish national pride to make up a lot for the lack of depth.

Well done to Port.
It was always going to be a tough debut season, so to get an average of 6,739 for the whole season is a pretty good achievement.

The last mens game ever held at Arden St only got 4,000.
Once again, the 2 Sydney crowds were pretty good (sorry, just realised the Swans actually played at Geelong).

I found an article this afternoon that says it might be between 5000-7000 but Austadiums and other articles still have it at 10.

Even if it's slightly more than 5000 it seems odd that so many that bought tickets wouldn't show. I wonder if they just thought this morning "well we're not going to sell many more tickets anyway, so may as well just call it sold out and make it a good news story".
