I reckon Whitfield will play a forward role at some point. If he doesn't, he should be able to push high enough to have a crack at the scoreboard
AGS $2.10/2+ $7/3+ $34

Finishing the night off with a SGM
5u - Crouch 25+, Lyons and McCluggage 20+ disposals - $1.98 - TopSport
Crouch is 8/11 on the season. Like the spot for him as he is now the main man in the midfield now that Steele is out. McCluggage is 9/11 for the season with his two misses being when his role was being changed around a bit in round one and two. Lyons is 11/12 for the season. Both Lions guys are key cogs in the midfield and will play a big part in the result tonight. With Neale likely receiving a tag tonight it’s up to these two to stand up and pick up a bunch of ballfirst time poster on this thread. Love a punt and been lurking for almost a decade. This poster has it! Been m
Been posting on bigfooty for couple of months now but been lurking for close to ten years. This poster is probably the best tipster (AFL) I've seen. Very guilty of multying his tips in a SGM

Yep. Discusses logic of said bet (usually sound). Reason why it's good value etc..
And yeah I knew a lot of posters on here rate him too.
Tends to put units on the correct side of a coin flip much more often than what he misses. I'll try to post some tips in here for once with what limited knowledge I have and see if I can jag a good good bet:)

Appreciate it! Glad my tips have been able to make you money at some point! Definitely post some tips when you can. The more input we have, the better we'll be.

I know this is a small sample size but does having a higher free kick count in matches impact scoring ability of games?

I have this theory in games where the umpires give more free kicks, games generally tend to be lower scoring. The Brisbane v Saints game had 48 free kicks (low scoring), Richmond v Port Adelaide had 45 free kicks (low scoring), and Freo v Hawks had 36 free kicks (highest scoring of the round). By giving out more free kicks Im of the belief that it impacts on game flow in particular. The free kick count has been as high as its ever been. Its roughly 1 free kick every 1.8 minutes. (1 minute 48 seconds or so) You can't honestly tell me that doesn't impact on the speed of a game/scoring. Just quickly tonight went through the average free kick counts (from 2000 to 2022 Rd 12):

With new rule changes, players being able to keep the ball better, the 'stand rule' in particular has slowed the game up even further than ever before, players not allowed to show emotion & the 'insufficient attempt' at keeping a ball rule as well- all these factors have played a role in scoring totally dropping off decade by decade. The AFL want a product where its fast moving and high scoring- but I simply cant see it happening. A free kick inside the Forward 50 for any forwards , tends to take up a full allocation of 30 seconds more often than not. If you give our 4 free kicks to forwards inside the 50 in a quarter, thats 1/10th of a quarter gone in terms of time.

It might be something that I look to create to see if there is some relationship or whether certain umps have a tendency to blow the whistle more often than others. Would be interested in creating a model on how Free kicks v Total Match Points goes. (might be something I do once I have a bit of free time) In Soccer, some official may be more reluctant to dish out yellow cards/penalties over others. (not all refs are the same in penalising)

I know we had our fun back in Rds 1-3 when games were open and high scoring but I can see from here till the end of the season games following a similar pattern especially if we have 40+ Free kicks in a game. I think reading through alot of the social media feeds, most fans just want the game to flow as much as possible . (also did hear the Brisbane v Saints game was officiated pretty badly today- didnt watch it)

The point I am trying to bring I guess, is it might be worth having a sneak at who is umpiring what game.

Who umpires a particular AFL game might have an impact on Total Match Points...is more the point I guess I am trying to get across.

I only really check umpires and who is officiating from time-to-time pre-game but for a sport like Soccer, its the first thing you would check if looking at the Cards markets/Who Will Get Booked.

Josh Kelly 1/2/3 @ $1.94/6.25/23 SB looks nice. Loves sneaking down for a sausage roll. There is going to be plenty of chances and midfielders have been sneaking down and kicking them agaisnt North all year.

He’s kicked 7.6 for the year and kicked 2 goals on two occasions. Not sure what he is at with the other agencies but I quite like it 👍🏻

Also like natooo ’s bet of Goldy for 2.

GWS - Tom Green for 2 goals on points bet is $8
hes kicked 2 goals 4/11 time this year. two weeks ago he got 2 against eagles. I think it's decent value.
