If the two best key forwards on any of the other 17 teams are injured, does any one of them have any kid that can competently cover for them? Most teams only have 1 key forward, we have 2.What you mean? They were all defenders in their draft years.
Im just saying given the situation we are in, it would have been worth to take project forwards in the hope 1 becomes decent. We have loaded up on mids and defenders recently so this was the year to do it.
When Riewoldt retires, and lynch is injured, we literally don’t have a key forward other than Bauer who hasn’t played a game and I think he’s only a mid sized forward anyway.
This isn’t just my opinion, it seems pretty common across the board and most journalists.
I believe we thought keeler/lemmey would have been there but got taken just before us so we just went random best available.
You wouldn't know how to plaster would you?Want to swap lives?
Pretty sure we have up to 2 selections if we want to take themDo we have one or two spots available in the rookie list? I feel like the club will surely take a punt on at least one tall
What's there to know? Mix it up slap it on then head to maccasYou wouldn't know how to plaster would you?
Very much doubt we thought Keeler would get anywhere near us.This isn’t just my opinion, it seems pretty common across the board and most journalists.

Sounds like Chris Judd mark 2A relative unknown out of Western Australia, Kaleb Smith has timed his run at the end of the year to bolt into draft contention. The East Fremantle product battled injury in 2022 and missed out on state Under 18 representation, but did some of his best work for Wesley College in the PSA competition before ending the WAFL Colts season in blistering form.
A dashing half-back who also doubled as a powerhouse in attack while playing school football, Smith's athleticism is something which translates well to his game. He plays with serious attacking intent from behind the ball, taking the game on at speed and breaking lines at will. Defensively, Smith is also a sound interceptor having averaged nine intercept possessions at WAFL Colts level, going with his solid rate of 21.7 disposals.
A high-impact type, Smith's back end of the season is what catapulted him into draft contention. His averages improved to 24 disposals and nine rebound 50s across his last four outings for the Sharks, putting him in the realm of bolter possibility. Had he been able to perform over the course of a full season, or on the national stage, Smith may have been talked about higher but remains a chance to have his name called come November on the back of his promising glimpses and obvious developable traits.
Balta can play forward and should to train him up as a JR replacement. He needs a consistent run at it and to not have to waste his energy getting smashed in the ruck and he will find marks and goals. Fantastic kick for goal also. Jack needs to get out of the way for this to work. Id almost have jack in the two's.
This only works if Gibcus can step up next year big time and either Tarrant plays well enough alongside increased pressure from the midfield easing the inside 50's and forcing hack kicks into the 50 being enough to maintain a premiership winning defense.
Ideally you would have balta playing back but if Tarrant is going to play, we have too many backs with gibcus, balta, grimes all demanding games. Miller is now in his prime and can also likely service as a second lockdown tall back.
Probably good for the salary cap not having to pay an upcoming key forward with Tarrant, Riewoldt, Gibcus, Grimes all likely on peanuts. Just a weird age demographic.
But Balta needs to be settled in a position. We cant keep chucking him around and ruining his development.
We won a GF with one KPF.Balta is a centre half back.
If we need to move him forward just because there are no other options our list management has been a failure
Hawks just trying to be a completely different club at this point and hoping nobody will notice
Balta is a better forward. And Chol would be eating into the taranto/hopper money. It just dawned on me that the club said they were completely blindsided to losing CCJ and Chol as they were our KPF future and genuinely thought they could retain them both. So the strategy over the next 2 drafts to cover that loss is (7 picks) 1 KPD, 1 small F, 2 mids, 2 medium D, 1 small D......... Zero KPF. FMD!!!!!
Better then centre half bench. Which is where Sculley or Lemming would be playing if we drafted them.Balta is a centre half back.

Yes plzTylar Young tomorrow?
