When have the AFL ever made an announcement If they are handing down a league sanctioned suspension? It has always been covered by a mental health and well-being excuse.

This is the concern. Even if it's not for good, his return date would be a mystery. So, if he's not selected he has to be traded straight out. If the club does not tell us why he is out there will 100% be speculation about it every time.
We discuss every injury to every player to a crazy depth.
Dusty is on plenty of peoples never again lists as he is a massive burn man.
If it upsets you to hear folks speculating on when his return date is this is probably not the best part of big footy for you.
