Thanks for this.If you look at the Combine results over the years there's not a whole lot of top end footballers that have top end speed..Of course you can draft players with speed but can they football.

Who does he replace at half forward then?We already moved him to HF and he looked a lot better before he did his ACL so very doubtful we will put him back into the midfield especially after recovering from an ACL and moving Crouch to the "bin".
I’m guessing zero as we won’t get himWhat's the consensus on what JHF would cost this year?
Surely the offer last year was a one time deal, but he is still contracted.

There's too much noise. Reckon he's ours. The jungle drums are beating he wants out. North may also want a deal to be done while he is in contract too.

Add those two to our side and being a crows fan would be fun again.Could be wishful thinking but with Rankine still not signed and the JHF talk still around, I have no interest in the draft this year, decent chance we won't be prominent.

For the record I doubt we get JHF, but that’s bullshit.I'm unsure if JHF is playing below himself at the moment because he's unhappy with his situation or if he was just massively overrated because he played every week in the SANFL when all the Vic kids were shut down with Covid.
hasn't his GF just moved to Melbourne like this week to live..being reported on the North Melbourne board a day or 2 agoThere's too much noise. Reckon he's ours.
For anyone who hasn't listened to the Rory Sloane Q&A about a week ago, you should do it. It's on the club website.
He's not planning retirement at all. Or the SANFL. He's planning to be 100 percent in round 1 and is looking forward to playing forward, midfield and wing next year AND "a couple more years after that hopefully".
Furthermore, on the experience topic, he said that if he and Seed were playing this year, we wouldn't have lost as many games this year. I also detected a flawed and biased outlook when he was asked which ex-crow he would bring back to the club if he could. He chose his mate Danger!
Entitlement? Senior players clique? Very bad answer as Danger is as cooked as any of the Geelong veterans.
The segment is only 15 minutes long and left me feeling that we have a potential problem brewing. His attitude was alarmingly contradictory to the vast majority of us in here.
I'm open minded about whether he captain's or plays next year. I'm worried though he appeared so deluded to his importance to us going forward.
Listen and make your own mind up.
It's worth its own thread actually.
Yeah I think you always have to think about what he could have said as an alternative. Sloane is a 200 game veteran who has been VC of the AA team, he's not going to be thinking of his rehab from a potentially career-ending ACL as being about coming back to play SANFL, so he's not going to be sitting there saying he's probably cooked but he hopes can be good injury cover. His goal will be to get back to his best, where he would obviously be best 22 because he was a great player, and he's going to reflect that goal in any comments he makes. It's up to the club to determine what sort of contribution he can make when he returns.
I highly doubt ROB is on $600k a year..Ok hear me out but if (and I know it’s a big if) Collingwood are desperate to get Grundy’s $1m x5 years contract off their books and we were prepared to pay all of it (which should be possible for us at this stage) would they pay us their first rounder this year (say pick 15 +/-) as salary dump compensation to do the deal? This would allow them to target FAs like McStay and maybe even keep De Goey.
If they were and we could then trade ROB for a second rounder then we could effectively give up $400K pa in salary cap (Grundy $1m less ROB ~$600K) and get a 1st and 2nd round pick in return and have a superior ruckman.
Those picks could make the difference in having trade capital for JHF and or Rankine.
Worth getting creative for I reckon.
I’m still dreaming of pick 2 for Brad. You do happen to get excited every trade period

and if he is.. we need to shoot the morons running the club.

If GWS who the media have mentioned are interested, could we put in a cheeky offer for briggs or preuss to step up our ruck stocks at a lowish cost..strachan might then move on for a nominal amountThat’s about what it would cost to dump his contract
Have you forgotten his 2017 season before he re-signed in 2018 and he is the captain so will be the highest paid player at the club.By the end of the year he’d have missed 41 of a possible 88 games since his god father contract that made him the 13th highest paid player in the afl despite not being in the best 125 players
