You can knock Ronkes endeavour and ability to get to the ball, but his decision making and skill execution outside of snapping for goal is at a very ordinary level.

Yes. His disposal has been average and a bit selfish.

Cunningham and Taylor have also been untidy.

You see a bit of selfishness from AFL players at VFL level, JPK a clear exception, across all the AFL aligned teams….

Not sure you can criticise ball use too much today. Morrison given up being unselfish, and with reason.

Better conditions in the 2nd half. There was some good, smart ball use by a few of our fellas. Pleased that Warner finished strongly.

And yep. Morrison is the perfect top up VFL list player. Solid team player with good skills who usually creates chances for others while taking his own.

Overall it was a good win in ordinary conditions. Nice to see ex Academy player Stern snag 3 for the Dolphins.

Good win.

Good games from JPK, McLean and Campbell, which I suppose is ideal at this stage of the year given they'd all fit into that "next cabs off the rank" category. I enjoyed seeing Campbell with a bit more run. Looked a bit more like the Campbell that was BOG on grand final day back in his draft year, albeit having to scrap a bit more given the conditions.

McDonald had an 'almost' day, Kallahan & Warner Jr. did some nice things, Gould looked good (again) while he was out there.

JPK looked dominant, but I mean, it's JPK... at a lower level... in the wet. Had his name written all over it, but at least it puts some pressure on the seniors to perform.

And I concur with the above comments on Ronke. To me he has gone back to just kinda winging it, doing a lot of kicking and hoping and just thinking any touch will do, like he was doing last year when his senior chances felt doomed. Has he resigned himself to his fate again? Because he's a fool if he has. I like Clarke and that defensive forward spot is his to lose, but it's no certainty he'll keep it and so Ronke is still in with a chance at senior level. But not in this form.

Keen to hear more about Warner. I’ve liked the limited amount I’ve seen of him. Good spots. Good decisions.
Good last quarter, simple dropped mark the only blemish. He gets to spots, distributed quite well with some short kicking. Looks to have a good footy brain. Has a way to go , been pretty inconsistent though generally has a moment or two..and another pre season will be good for him…too early to tell if it’s Chad mark 2, but he is promising.

Morrison never really did anything against Ormond 2 weeks ago ,

Not usually my thing but everyone else does it so I'll offer my pick: Lachie Rankin will be a future captain.
of the VFL team?

of the VFL team?

AFL team! Just think his courage is second to none the way he puts his (still far too small) body on the line. Gets around the boys after every contest. Always appears to be barking out directions on the field.

Just a guess. Everyone else has crowned half the players on our list as future captain material so I thought I'd have a go :)

Can he climb a goal post?

Leap a chain wire fence in a single bound?

Yes?

Well, there you go - he’s captaincy material!
