Yes, he's a gun that had a great game. All be it probably on the fortunate side to win it vs Neale.

Im sure he's going to give Harry a run for his money in the coming years in this thread.

It doesn't make Bobby Hill better than Izak Rankine or Zak Butters as a comparison however.
Lol or JJ better than the Bont!!

Sydney's 2022 draft is all time cluster.

Traded pick 18 when it was their turn, which we ultimately used on Josh Weddle.

They then had picks 20 and 27.
Pick 20 was Jacob Konstanty who they just traded to North Melbourne as steak knives alongside Luke Parker.
Pick 27 was Cooper Vickery who they've already delisted.

They were probably due a bad one.
They played some funny games with Rpwsten, tried to blackmail (probably too strong a word) us in to a trade as per reports.

Im loving the back end of this draft for us.
Darcy Jones got a lot of attention and is looking like a great talent, but the one I love is Toby McMullen, I think he is going to be a jet. I doubt that he has caught the eye of many neutral fans, but I think he is going to be very good player in the future

Nah blackmail was the right word

What the hell happened in the second round of this draft?

Charlie Clarke
Cooper Vickery
James Van Es
Olli Hotton
Coby Burgiel

All delisted within 2 years.

Jacob Konstanty traded without playing a game (taken 2 picks before the second round).

The Hawks really wanted Vickery (NGA) and if Clarke was drafted by a bottom 4 team he’d probably still be on a list.

I really wanted Clarke over Cowan because I figured Cowan would be back to Tassie at his first opportunity, plus I believe I said “we already have a Bailey Dale”. (He's obviously really good, but you only really need one of him, which is why we moved Caleb Daniel on.) Still not sure if he’d have been the best list fit, but he’s definitely done more than Clarke managed.

Unfortunately for Van Es, he completely cooked his ankle. Had 3-4 surgeries on it in his 2 years. Sucks he never got a real run at it.

We have George still on our list after 2 knee reco's. Another 2nd rounder from this draft that has not had a very good injury run.
He was (and remains) a high risk high reward selection.
He could still come good

Been a while since someone had a crack at the redraft so I'll give it a go. Found it hard to place Seth Campbell and Darcy Jones, ended up putting them at the top of the third tier but maybe they deserve to be in the second.

Also where the hell do we put Cadman, maybe it's still too early for talls from this draft but there's a few that have only played a few games which I wouldn't be surprised if they moved past him in the next few years also.

1. Sheezel
2. Ashcroft
3. Weddle
4. Humphrey
5. Wardlaw

6. Michalanney
7. Fletcher
8. Phillipou
9. Mackenzie

10. Jones
11. Campbell
12. Draper
13. Ginbey
14. Hollands
15. Hewett

16. Cadman

Must be a great draft if Hewett’s only 15th…
I'll put my hand up and say I don't watch enough WC and see enough of him compared to most of the others.

From what I have seen of him I love the way he attacks the footy. Who would you have him ahead of?

If it’s to be viewed as a draft based on what we’ve seen to date then I think there’s a weighting to be applied in favour of someone like Hewett who’s playing significant inside midfield minutes as against some others who, while performing well in their respective positions, are not playing such a key role. It’s also worth noting that due to injuries, he missed all of last season and a number of games in his first season. That means Hewett has had less development time at this level and probably doesn’t have the tank he would otherwise have. In addition he plays in the worst team in comp, with ruckmen who are unable to compete.

Taking all of that into account, I’d concede that Ashcroft, Sheezel, Weddle and Humphrey are ahead of him. But I think it can be argued whether any others of those you mentioned are. And that’s not in any way denigrating their output to date, I just think Hewett is under the radar (possibly because nobody watches Eagles’ games).

Worth noting where Cadman is in comparison to other talls taken early in drafts in there 3rd year.
JUH only play 5 games in his first year, he played 17 in his second kicking 18 goals, and in year 3 in finally made a mark kicking 30 goals.
Thilthorpe in year 1 played 14 games kicking 18 goals, year 2 11 games kicking 8 goals, in year 3 in broke into the team playing 21 games for 18 goals.
Cadman broke in year 1 with 12 Games, In year 2 he kicked 30 goals in 23 games and this year has kicked 16.

Pre issues everyone was singing JUH praises and everyone is talking up Thilthorpe.

Cadman in many ways has done more in his first 2 and half years they did.

I think he is progressing fine.

On a different player, I quite like what I saw from Max Gruzewski in opening round. Am surprised he hasn't had more of a go this year, what's his story?
