I will leave this here to prove my point about Hinkley

12 of the 18 clubs have changed coaches since 2017. The 6 that haven't ...

Richmond - Damien Hardwick (12 seasons, 3 premierships, 3 grand finals, 7 finals series)

Sydney - John Longmire (11 seasons, 1 premiership, 3 grand finals, 9 finals series)

Geelong - Chris Scott (11 seasons, 1 premiership, 2 grand finals, 10 finals series)

West Coast - Adam Simpson (8 seasons, 1 premiership, 1 grand finals, 6 finals series)

Western Bulldogs - Luke Beveridge (7 seasons, 1 premiership, 2 grand finals, 5 finals series)

And ...

Port Adelaide - Ken Hinkley (9 seasons, 0 premierships, 0 grand finals, 5 finals series)

Port should sign him for another 10 years to give him a chance to catch the others. :moustache:

But he rescued your club when it was on its knees though, you have to be grateful.

My team shit the bed last weekend after going 2550+ prior. This week all depends on Titch role, Ridley coming back and not being shit and Steele as VC to bounce back and put up 140. Thanks.

On the other side of things hoping Macrae spuds it up and Hewett/Gawn aren't selected. Thanks.

Looks like there will be a sweet inclusion for the dogs. No English, no Steph. Anyone with Darcy Cameron will be celebrating.

Sweet could not be any worse than Martin last week.

All he wanted to do was to wrestle Hayes in the ruck contests.

Sweet is probably better than Stef

Still think Cameron goes 90 at a minimum from here on, and that's with Darcy and Gawn/Jackson coming up soon before the rd14 bye

He's a mature body, been in the system long enough, and has the tank to be a #1 ruckman. Will get enough around the ground, even if he gets smashed in ruck contests

It hard to think of a game that has had as many ramifications for SC as next week's GWS game will have.

For those too young to remember, due to AFL concessions and masterful manipulation of the rules by Sheedy, GWS was going to be a league powerhouse. It first played in the AFL in 2012 and in preparation for its debut season the AFL gave it 10 of the first 14 picks in the 2011 National Draft. It was also given the right to take several mature age players from other clubs so the kids wouldn't be playing alone but instead stole yet more early draft picks from recent drafts from other struggling clubs, such as Ward from the Bulldogs and Scully from Melbourne. In the 2012 draft GWS was again given the number 1 pick and traded off some of its excess players from the 2011 draft to secure the 2nd and 3rd picks as well. This combination of AFL largess and clever trading continued and gave it the first 2 draft picks in the 2013 draft. By the time that first haul of talent from the 2011 draft approached its prime in around 2015 GWS should have started an era of domination which should have only recently been starting to wane. History shows it didn't happen and instead it played in only one grand final and was soundly beaten. How could GWS have messed things up so completely? It made one mistake .... in 2014 it appointed the hapless Leon Cameron as the senior coach and what seemed a certain dynasty was flushed down the drain.

Now he's finally gone and will eventually be replaced by a competent coach ... probably one of Clarkson or his former protege Yze. In the meantime, as of round 10, assistant coach Mark McVeigh will take the reigns. What will he do? Will he simply continue with the Cameron tactics he's been going along with in recent years or will he change things around by implementing his own ideas? Most importantly to all of us, will he use GWS's star players in a way that allows them to showcase their talent? Will players like Coniglio, Whitfield and perhaps most of all Kelly finally be played in the positions that get the best out of them and as a result get the best SC scores out of them? It's going to be an interesting few weeks once Cameron becomes just a horrible memory.

He’s been woeful in the vfl. Getting turned over regularly by guys much smaller than him.

Poor Gold Coast and Freo.
Yep, we’re still not worthy of comment, apparently.
Thats ok, we’ll keep slipping under the radar and see you in September! :moustache:
(Well, maybe we won’t be seeing The Crows though!)

I woke up today ....a melancholy mood, blanketed over me ....a trepidation about the future SC Rounds, causing an anxiety .....I reached for my breakfast Bourbon, but it didn't pacify my anxiety ..... as it usually does
You might ask, why are you letting a Fantasy Game get to you ......a very fair question too ! .....it is simply a game, but I hear the derision and s******'s in the SC Corridors .....the words "can't bat, can't throw" ring in my ears

In previous years, I have run out of trades too soon ....so have deliberately been more prudent this year .....but this season is not like other years .....or is it ? .....I feel like the tortoise in the race with the hare ...have I misjudged this years strategy ?
Is conserving "boosts" the correct approach .....or was getting a completed side, in record time .....and it is record time, the right approach ?

I feel so conflicted with these thoughts & a myriad of options raging, as my head hits the pillow each night ......oh and to complicate & add additional layers to my sleepless nights ......I looked at my bye structure for the 1st time ......12 players currently available for R12 ......12 !!!

View attachment 1397973

News breaking, that a few Bulldogs Players have been hospitalised with Flu .......Hewett, will he, won't he play.... & of course CARL are playing Sunday .....makes sense I will choose the wrong option, to hold or trade Hewett

The Fantasy Gods are conspiring against me yet again ......yet as I type this monologue, suddenly a sense of serenity is infusing my thoughts ....a degree of clarity is coming ...... the clouds parting, to let the sun shine thru & providing a warm contentment

View attachment 1397981
I'm not making the same mistake again .....the (VC) goes onto Macrae
English out, makes those picking D.Cameron happy ....and non owners on keen watch duty
Future DPP Bont, hopefully is back this week ....if Libba is carrying an injury, what are the repercussion for Smith and Dunkley .....maybe managed, maybe played up fwd

Is De Goey finished as a FWD option this year ......not impressing ATM

View attachment 1397986
All eyes on RICH in this game .....Short playing MID, should get DPP in R12 .....my man Vlastuin back to pickup the defensive points vacated by Short
Will Sicily have to play defence this week, with T.Lynch is career best form ....a nervous game for Sicily owners, me thinks
Did us new MJR owners, make the right choice ? ......I'm hoping for a yes

RICH in a rich vein of form, should win .....but how long B4 the HAW mid rookies tire, and Titch gets brought back into the midfield, as the primary mid .....it will happen

Last Chance Butters !!!!!!

View attachment 1397992
Good match this .....a game that should suit Steele ....yet, he's still to show the consistency of 2021 ....would be a brave coach to (VC) or (C) him, he could go big though ...had 29 possessions last week, so getting the ball is not the issue, needs to up his tackle count, from 4 last week
2nd game for Cooper Stephens, who did some good things in game 1 .....SDK going from strength to strength, survives to the byes, in my side
Was last weeks Duncan score an outlier .....or does he come back into contention, after this round ?

View attachment 1397998
Just can't see anyway, Heeney and Mills don't go bonkers in this game .....in fact, I can see all SC relevant players having a day out

Have a good day, owners !

View attachment 1398000
Have no hesitation in putting the (C) on Neale here ......back into his home state, in front of family & friends .....ADEL simply don't have the midfield to worry BRIS
Hately will "try" and tag Neale .....but class & superior fitness will shine thru
Looks like ROB out for Straughan .....Soligo possibly back as well

To Zorko or not ? .....33 YO, had early season injury .....can we trust him, if so, could be a definite top 6 DEF .....a lot of trust required though

View attachment 1398005
Game of the round .....and the first real competition for the CARL midfield ......Cripps versus Tom Green is delicious
Being played at GWS gives the home side an advantage ....that & losing McKay
So many relevant players in this game ......does Cogs get more midfield minutes .....can Jelly get some consistency of form, that match's his contract value

Two outstanding DEF options in Docherty and Cumming face off ......Cumming would have been in my side, had it not been for his R12 Bye .....is still a strong post bye option though

For new Hamilton owners .....we'll have a better idea of his JS after this match .... I pray for you

The Preuss train continues :straining: .....checks team sheet .....yep, no ruckman to worry him .....OMG, talk about a charmed life, makes me sick !!

View attachment 1398016
OMG .....how will this playout ? ......will MELB treat this as a picnic outing, and play accordingly .....will Max be rested, I'm assuming he plays, but up forward, allowing beleaguered Jackson owners, some enjoyment

Piggy Oliver, could go 200 or 75 in this match ......likewise Tracca ....what will their attitude be to this game ?? ....last game of the round, so can you trust any MELB player to max his scoring potential

As for WC ......meh !!

Have a great round everyone ....

Firing like a belt-fed mortar and plenty of SC relevant gear mixed in there, too.
Tidy work 🤠

You blokes look really solid this year, and you've got Teen Wolf to come back in, too..
This is finally a side worthy of the legacy of Clive Waterhouse, you love to see it 😍

And that was before reports Nick Daicos trained with the “seconds” team at Collingwood’s Thursday session

Daicos is worth holding if you can due to his solid on-field scoring this far (av 83), the fact he won’t lose any value and you can hang on to him until the final bye round when Collingwood has the week off in round 14 to give maximum coverage over the most tricky three weeks of the season.

"He's definitely going to be playing. He's fully fit - he's training today, he's out there doing some centre bounce work," Goodwin said.

"He's firing on all cylinders and wants to go out and perform well for the club."
