Strange for a young player to have a lingering calf , may be more Archilles related . Anyway she has a big future, take her time

True, I know first hand you can also hurt your opposite foot calf when protecting a achilles strain. Trundling the hills of Berwick and significantly strained my left achilles from over training, only to then put pressure on my right calf - seemed weird at the time (young) but I kinda understand it now. Not saying that is her case, but who knows?

that's a glass half empty way of looking at things TigermanM2, just because Ellie isn't playing in the early rounds
if we play our best footy, we'll be right in it, every team we play, regardless who they are
we could even do what the men's team did in 2017 and really surprise a lot of us

we have too many good players now, to rely so much on one player anymore, maybe Mon C & Katie B excepted
we'll get back Sarah Hosking, Harriet Cordner, Maddie Shevlin & Tessa Lavey, which will more than make up for one young gun player missing :)

It’s not just that Ellie is missing. The Hoskings, Shevlin, Cordner and a couple that just don’t come to mind right now are all under injury clouds.

Plus first game of the season.

That first round can produce some unexpected results. 70/30 towards us is just way too optimistic. If that happens I’ll be stoked.

As for the games against Melbourne and Fremantle, well, we just aren’t in their class at present. I’m not talking about individual class. We have that. I’m talking about team class. We are still a bit too stop start whereas those teams are superb at moving the ball.

Im just being realistic. I think we’ll have a good season but even then that may not be good enough for finals.

To make finals we have to have a Dusty and at present she is sitting in the stands with an unknown return date.
