Assuming we can get 39 from the doggies.
When a bid for Ashcroft comes in (pick 1) don’t all of those five picks go to the back of the draft?
So if there is 70 picks taken to the draft by all clubs and a bid comes at pick 1 for Ashcroft then all of those 5 picks in the 30’s for us, drop back to picks 65-69.
So by the time the pick for Fletcher comes in at let’s say (pick 20) all of those picks of ours will be down to roughly picks 45-50 which will average out at around 300 points per pick. Which gives us plenty of points to match a bid for Fletcher without trading back in.
So the pick 39 is pretty valuable to us to ensure that we have enough points to match Ashcroft and then Fletcher will take care of itself.

Otherwise known as Bevo's pony day...It's Dunkley Lion Day.

I am looking forward to reading the tantrums on the Doggies board this evening.Otherwise known as Bevo's pony day...![]()
I reckon you are spot on Scubaveg. The bulldogs were always going to play hard ball on this trade as it wasn’t just about the trade, they wanted to show all their players that it was not easy to leave the kennel. The Lions knew this so they offered what they thought was fair and reasonable knowing that this was going to be rejected. As soon as this offer was rejected they went to plan B which was to swap their most valuable pick. This was merely posturing but also gave us better options once the trade period comes to the end. At the end of the day the Bulldogs look like they have won and the supporters will be happy but we will get Dunkley, the bulldogs will get Lobb and the Lions will get less than the initial offer. Everyone wins.We ain’t getting 39, and they won’t getting anything else back. It’ll land on 21 and F1st. Lions will trade a future 2nd into this year on draft night if the bids mean we need to.

#bulldoglogicAlso think it crazy some dogs supporters are we let him go to draft and we can get him before Lions with pick 11
So you let 21 plus a F1 go miss out of Lobb
Then use pick 11 to get a player who wants out.

I believe that if our deficit is more than the worth of a particular pick, we simply lose that pick. The only pick that gets moved down the order is the last one, assuming the points assigned to that pick is worth more points than our remaining deficit after taking into account the earlier picks.Assuming we can get 39 from the doggies.

You would be with a surname like that.Listening to Lyons on SEN. Gee he is still salty about losing the final to us. Really has a big swing every chance he gets.
Why wait two years? They got Boyd to request a trade to them after one...Bidding on Fletcher at pick 11 isn’t a flex they think it is. Every possibility we pass on him at that pick and they’re stuck with him for two years until he requests to go home![]()

Also basing your draft on getting back at another club you think “screwed” you over is not good club management. Which is why it’s a very real possibility the Shitdogs do it![]()
I love it when you wink.We will get Fletcher, Ashcroft & Dunkley.![]()
Lyon is a first class grub. There was no better win this year and then listen to his bullshit on the couch and on sen radio. Gave me so much pleasure.Listening to Lyons on SEN. Gee he is still salty about losing the final to us. Really has a big swing every chance he gets.

First pick goes up to where the bid was made, the other 4 slide to the end of the draft.Assuming we can get 39 from the doggies.
