Henry is the cream boyos. When the teams up and about dominating possessions and getting the ball forward, his 10-15 touches are gold. When the teams struggling and we're getting burnt by quick turnovers, he's not going to look great.

Teams need someone like Henry when they are competing to bob up and do something special. Every game at the moment is money in the bank for ~2 years time.

I can't recall a time where the team has looked this fit.

Yeah, I am excited but the recency bias here is getting a little strong. The 2013, 14 and 15 sides we ridiculously hard and fit. We are not at that level atm imo but we are building towards it which is exciting.

Hopefully he’s that Cyril Rioli type that only needs 10 touches to heavily influence a game, If his tackling gets to half that level too it will be a big bonus…

OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
O’Driscoll was a mainstay in the midfield for Purple, with his composure and contested work on display, linking up well with Brayshaw to lead Purple’s midfield all day.
Love this from the FFC web site in regards to the Friday sim.
Noddy is one to look out for.A smokey.

I liked Freddy in the 43 - far out I miss Roger Hayden.

I’ve said it in another thread somewhere, there’s more than a bit of Clarry Oliver in the way Nod goes about it…

See I reckon Henry's game is not progressing appreciably til now because he is only getting a few touches a match and so thinks he has to do some cyril magic with every touch and overcooks it. I reckon he'll be a considerably better player getting 20 touches a game and taking the simple option with most of them.

O’Driscoll & Erasmus both a chance for round 1 debut?
I think not. But I am biased and like players to get a decent grounding in the wafl. O'Driscoll arguably has that but wasn't bashing the door down last year, and there are several other wing options. Aish and Tucker locked in too.

MJ and Clancee Pearce would look out of place in the current squad.

Henry will be awesome but I will say he is about 2 years away imo. In the meantime I can see him being inconsistent and even frustrating at times. Just got to be patient with him. Our team is pretty good at developing players so got to trust the sytem.

O'Driscoll seems to be playing at a much higher standard than last year thankfully. There were many negative comments about him last year and some doubt about his chances of ever being an AFL standard player.

Let's hope he can continue his current form and push for some games in 2022.

Noddy appears to have the work ethic and desire to improve that will serve him well. Not seen enough to judge, but I assume he wasn't the most talented amongst his peers, but I doubt he'll be outworked. Add that to players like Fyfe, Brayshaw and Serong driving an ethos of hard work throughout the team and we're going to be flying. It ain't your superstars that win you Premierships, it's your bottom six and your depth. For the first time ever, I think we're looking good for both and the club culture is impressive. Being Freo, of course, I'm just waiting for some freak incident with the power lines at the ARC to maim half the team... but until then, I dream.

He is like an Angus B. Not the most talented or elite player on the team, but his defensive efforts and skills can make him a valuable role player in a premiership side.

Noddy looks like he needs to trim the body fat a bit more next pre season. That Clayton Oliver build haha
