If it were a like-for-like recruitment need, in lieu of Valente's departure, then you would expect Bailey Rogers to get the gig.

But I have heard Freo insiders suggest they are looking for a versatile tall that could fill a need if we get players forced into Covid isolation. Strom or Schlensog would be good in that regard.

You would think if one of the Peel guys was getting it we wouldn't have applied re Rogers and Schlensog. So it sounds like it's between those two.

I still reckon the club will elect to watch them in the first half of the WAFL season and make a decision at the MSD

Anyone expecting anything wild and weird being tried out from the Freo coaches this w/e? Or anything you wouldn't mind seeing (eg positionally)?

I'll get the ball rolling...

Brennan Cox and Luke Ryan playing in the forward line for a quarter together.

Kicking more goals than points. Crazy, I know.

Well they are conjoined siamese twins, so it makes sense that they would have to both be there. Imagine the wistful looks if they were separated.

That would require Amiss to play. Maybe the 2nd practice game?

Perhaps we have trained just to win the first centre clearance each quarter, lock the ball forward with a wall and just kick points (I'll say deliberately but we know we are even better at doing it accidentally) so the ball never returns past half way? Final score 0.36.36 to 0.0.0.

there's a play some of the better teams utilise called avoiding injuries to key players in practice games. I wouldn't mind us giving that a go this year.

That’s something you can do??

Now I finally get it... it was Luke Polson wearing Bailey Banfield’s number that I thought was Chapman playing at full forward last Friday. He is a big unit.

Might be getting ahead of myself here but Sean Darcy looks like he's going to be unstoppable this year. He may be the strongest player in the AFL now.

Pav just said he is injured

Thumb injury should only keep him out this week

Yeah I saw, was in the paper this morning. I'm at the point where I'm not too concerned on any Darcy injury, seems to heal up within a quarter anyway

No doubting he’s fit and freaky strong but he still looks like he’s carrying a ton of baby-fat on him. Imagine what he will look like in 2 years! Just a big slab of muscles

Would like to see us moving the ball out of the back half immediately after turning over the opposition much quicker than we have over the last 2 seasons
Replacing momentum killers like Conca and Hughes with the likes of Clark, Walker and Young should see a big improvement in that area.
Forwards will benefit with more one on ones then.

So Rogers, Schlensog, Cullen and Polson to train with us

No Strom or Wade Derkson who seemed an interesting proposition

I'd like a fwd that can ruck (in case Lobb goes down) so Schlensog or Polson for me

Or, hopefully being hit on the tit on the lead!

He just loves getting a band-aid, a spray of the freeze spray and a ruffle of his hair and a jelly baby from the Doc then he's all good to go again.
