Position 2023 Forwards

I've faded Coniglio, only because he seems to have a dip at some point. Seems the least value and the greatest chance at losing value to get him in through the year.
Interesting. I don’t have him but he’s the one I’m most concerned about getting away price wise.

When you say "get away", how much do you think he will end up being? $650k is only $100k more than what he is (not really getting away) and I can't remember the last starting forward to get up to those dizzying heights for a consistent stretch of time. If he averages enough to cost $600k plus, then he is a must have regardless, but he is already quite highly priced.

Dunkley we have seen go on trots of 120-130, it's all about role, which we assume he has at Brisbane. Likewise, Provided Taranto is getting bulk contested possessions, which he has shown he is more than capable, then he will score well regardless of DE. Role again.

There is more slice of the pie for Coniglio, and not saying that he is a bad pick (in cold light of day, looks to be a Monty for a Top 6-10 forward), I just am prioritising him over others.

Some suggestion Jelly benefits the most this year ....and Callaghan steps up, once injury free

Do you think Cogs is maxed out with his pricing ? .....I'll prioritise Cogs as a trade-in option when his price drops

It’s never easy getting in a player over $600k during the season.

key to my heart GIF by Zita Nagy

Mah guy is back
  • Brayshaw impressive around the stoppages, tagged heavily and still evades two tackles into an effective kick
  • Fyfe is definitely back: bull in the contest, balls spits out and not once, not twice but three defensive efforts to result in a goal
  • Big contest on the 50, Fyfe gets a fsist that spills to Freddy who hits a 20m kick across the arc to Walters who finds Tabs in the pocket for a snap on the right a goal

Haha, I’d be pretty damn weary bringing Fyfe into your regular fantasy teams based off my biased friends training reporting haha…

He’ll also play like 80% forward if match sims are anything to go by

Freo Player Update

Fyfe:
Looking a million bucks as he continues to build but looks like he'll be playing exclusively forward at this stage. Could get the average back up to 90 so defs some potential value but I'm always weary on the injury. Still, could be an early mid-priced cash cow before trading him out as soon as possible before the inevitable injury hits

Not sure if anyone else is fantasy relevant but Switkowski could be an interesting point of difference, looks to be moving to a forward/mid split (similar to when Walters was fantasy relevant). Keep an eye out the preseason and round one, there's some world where he averages 80 odd which might be worth the short term cash cow

I thought I had heard Goater was playing Wing ?
Most likely scenario at this juncture is that Bailey Scott and Liam Shiels will be our main wingmen for round 1. They’ve been playing the role in the best 22 team during match sims.
Goater has trained with the mids a bit, but looks like he’ll be mostly off HBF, at least to begin with.

IMO, from the U18's, the WING suits Goater better .....I'm a massive fan !

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where he’ll end up.
Reckon Clarko will opt for experience and proven tanks on the wings until the new gameplan is working and the standards have been set.

Any love for Nic Martin?

Reckon he will blitz it with another pre season. All class
This post was a while ago and I replied at the time but apparently he's looking sensational in training. His price means he shouldn't be in consideration but he might surprise

Gunston is starting to appeal to me at a price where i cant see many viable options. I dont think he is done just yet and should be given lots of room to roam around and link up on the wing and work down to half back. I dont think he has a massive ceiling but at the price point, i reckon he is the best bet. I can see him averaging 90 in the right circumstances.

Apparently very very good in an intraclub recently.

I did read about that. Sometimes a trade can do wonders for a player too. Fages obviously wanted him and in a team that should be very strong, i can see him having a great season. He is an accurate shot on goal and will work up the field if he isnt getting the ball when deep. I know he is over 30 but i reckon he is still 'fresh' enough to have a great season. I see little downside and quite a bit of upside. Awkward price point but with 36 trades you can probably take a few gambles on PODs even if they are priced a bit awkwardly.

I like your thinking. If I wasn't convinced about Cunners at F3 then I'd consider Gunston too.
