If we'd beaten Carlton last week it would have been less of a fluke than Carlton's win last night. What a choke by Melbourne. SHould have won by 4 goals.
Brijng on the fawning media coverage. "A win for the ages" (Age) Carlton's extraordinary finals run (Fox Sports)
"Somehow they found themselves in front at the final siren" (Age). Yes, because Melbourne missed six shots at goal in the final quarter.
Zero chance against the Lions.

I can't stand how the media go on and on about how the winning side was so good etc, etc even though the other side was clearly the better.

I don’t think they are far in front of Pies. Pies have been the best team all year.

I don’t think they will feel inferior in any way when playing the Pies and for mine it will be a true 50/50 game.

Giants are the form team at the moment and no injury worries, seem fit and well playing a dominant style of footy too. That 2nd quarter was astonishing.

They then kept Port at arms length for the rest of the game.

Disgraceful how the AFL have forced the Giants into back to back 6 day breaks.

That is an absolute disgrace and I'd be fuming if I were GWS. Not only do they not get a full week in between games, they wouldn't even have been able to get home till Sunday!
I thought there was an unwritten rule that every finalist gets a minimum 7 day break between finals. Or is that too logical for the afl?
Really can't see why the weekends games couldn't have been the other way around, so that Carlton and GWS BOTH get a seven day break.
Again, too logical for the AFL.

What has happened to stuey maxfield... got cut during covid and hasn't been heard of since... I think taigh kenelly was the same at the time
Agree maxfield seemed like a good bloke to have at a footy club seemed to have a knack for the operations development side as well.

AFL are pandering to whatever Collingwood wants. Once again to the detriment of an interstate team.

It’s sickening the Vic-centric advantage provided by the AFL under Gil’s watch.
