absolutely spot on..and even then, If Murray comes back well from his ACL, Butts rediscovers his early career form and Keane kicks on from the good form he showed late season, Cox won't be a need
I can't see why Murray wouldn't return to the player he was before his ACL. Lever does alright after two acl's.

Yeah but he was a Carlton discard. Turned pretty well though although the last few years were hard to watch.

A Carlton discard? Played finals the year we took him - Carlton had invested so much in the Ruck with Kruezer and Warnock that he was down the pecking order
IIRC Carlton we’re spewing that we offered the big contract and lured him away

Yep come this time next year we’ll have a better understanding of
  • if any two of Murray/Butts/Keane are part of our next flag push
  • if Cox is gettable/necessary
we seem to be forgetting Max, looks as though he could be more than useful

Just on Doedee... Admittedly I have absolutely no knowledge on ACL rehabilitation, but was a little surprised to see where he is at with rehab.

Suppose it was over 3 months ago already (goes quick), just seems quite a bit of load going into those knees already.

I'm fairly sure they're mostly ready to go running wise from 4 or 5 months. Then it takes another few months to go to changes in direction, and then absorbing the physical pressures such as sudden impacts in tackling.

Some interesting contracts up for renewal next year.

Pedlar and Hinge the priority ones

Berry, Cook, Gollant, Hamill, Sholl, McHenry, Himmelberg, Parnell. These guys all need to get a wriggle on (and we need to stop handing out multi year deals to bloody fringe players).

"Hey Tom, we're struggling to get any decent offers - want to jump on insta and show how good your knee is looking?"

He will be able to do all of the pre season running

But need work on the change of direction stuff

By late Feb he could be close to full training

Esava and Zerk-Thatcher. Port building the ultimate defense of tall defenders that can't defend that well

PORT seem to be reading the Stewart Dew playbook of trading .....anyone who's available

Was there a little Buzz around Jack Bytel a couple years ago? Strongly built 23 year old midfielder that was just let go by the Saints.

I can't recall why his name is so familiar to me. I don't think i've ever seen him play, but he certainly looks the part physically.

Saints fans have been talking him up forever.

Now we’ve re-signed Matt Crouch I can’t see us going there. I prefer Will Brodie to be honest, but don’t think we’d be in the market for either.

Gonna be interesting to see how Port pull off the trades for BZT and Ratatouille.
Gotta give it to them, they're ambitious and active at trade time

They will get those done. They have future picks to use and while it won't net them much they are pushing Lycett and Clury out.

I still think we should be going after one of their future picks and give them a few of this years second round picks they can use to trade.
