If you look at TDK through the lens of playing full forward, he's potentially worth the money. Difficult to outmark, can really motor, and can take on some of the ruck work. Physically strong and can apply tackles and pressure that few his size can.

Stunted in his developement as a forward due to our structure and personnel, but that's fixable if we're prepared to ditch/re-position the slower smalls we operate there. I might have mentioned this directly and indirectly a few times over the years, and now clubs appear to be looking seriously at it, thinking they can produce a top 10 key forward for a single top 10 pick.

If they feel he's already sound enough in the fundamental parts of the role, he's a bargain.

Didn’t like Ross Lyons comments at all when they interviewed him, openly talked about wanting TDK and JSOS. Disrespectful talking about other players who aren’t on your list and how openly you’re keen to get them to your club I think it’s bizarre and disrespectful.

Agree however footy landscape has changed in regards to player movement.

Funnily enough, Ross Lyon said he didn’t want to throw JSOS under the bus but he actually threw his own list manager under the bus. Now everyone thinks that SOS makes list choices based on what his son tells him.

St Kilda is a perennially underperforming joke.
We absolutely dodged a bullet with Lyon - mark this post I’m hearing he’s already got players well and truly offside and talking about bringing players in before a game has even been played … what does that say to the current list?
They have SOS and now have also appointed ex-Carlton recruiter Michael Jordan. Jobs for mates.
They will cut their list deep at the end of this year and hit the draft - only the dregs of the AFL system will want to touch them from a trade perspective.

These rumoured offers are crazy for a ruck but brilliant for us from a list management perspective.
We have two more drafts before we need to start rebuilding our tall stocks and if TDK was to leave for a contract like the Swans reported offer we’d have two first round picks in each of those years and cap space for a free agent.
Could completely account for the replacements of Saad, Docherty, Newman, Martin etc

We have the inside track on the Campo twins, so that will help. Either nominate us together or go through the draft, get split up and get drafted to a not very good list.

Hi folks,
A keeper league question. Is Lachlan Fogarty likely to get any games this season, or has he slipped too far down the pecking order?
Cheers.

I think they nominate us. Both mad carlton supporters and already been fairly involved with the club. Though I think only Lucas has the potential to be a first rounder. His brother probably a late pick though it's still a fair way out.

His development (IMO) was set back by a year because he had to play #1 ruck when Pittonet went down. Same can be said of Jack if we are fair - playing relief ruck AND pretending to have the energy to play as a third 'tall'...hard yards for both last year.

but lets put some perspective on TDK - he is far far away from being worth more or as much as Cripps - or Charlie or Harry.

As for SOS commentary he is just throwing his hat in the ring - and like other teams trying ( at least) to raise the keep price for TDK at Carlton. Low class old school crapola.

Lets see how well TDK handles game #1 I would have preferred that Pittonet was playing as well.

St Kilda seem to like discussing being linked to players from other clubs, it's so they can project a sense of relevance which is ironic because it does the opposite. Good clubs don't buy into it publicly when asked if they're into other players. It's part of the reason why they've been the worst club in VFL/AFL history. I honestly don't understand why they weren't made to fold or move interstate. $8 or $10m in debt, no identity or relevance and one flag (arguably fluked) in 150 years.

I can tell you why they won't move interstate... nobody would want them... could say more, but this is our list management thread...

Re: TDK, all we can hope is he plays well.

If he has a great year and shows he's the real deal as an AFL top-liner, that's GREAT. He helps us now.

He then either stays (hooray!) or he goes (boo!) for a massive ransom.

List wealth is key.

I expect him to jump over Nank tonight at the centre bounces and hopefully feed some lengthy periods of one-way traffic.

TDK will extend for two years before looking to sign a bigger, longer contract end of ‘25.
He backs himself in to earn it and the club will have a lot more cap flexibility then.

I thought he played a very consistent game tonight. First time I've watched him and thought he looked like a smart footballer. Still has a lot of developing to do but good for the kid if he backs himself to earn it.

Might be round 1 but Austin, do whatever if it takes to bring in some blokes who can actually kick the footy. Far too many ball butchers on the list at present.

What I think is more important is getting half forwards who can contribute across an entire game. At this point I'd even take two quarters. Similar story as our small forwards but I think those are already on the list, they just need to improve.

A great half forward/small forward with genuine speed would be fantastic but we still need players across the field who are capable of chewing off those kicks into the corridor which open up the game and let us get 1 on 1's for our forwards. 3-4 more above average/elite kicks would open up so many more options for us in terms of ball movement. I don't blame Voss for the bully ball style we play at the moment because that's playing to our strengths far more than precision kicking.
