This here is the biggest concern I have.

Voss just fails to think 2 steps ahead. No coach is going to just let you blanket their star player without trying something different. This a large percentage of the time is to move them to the forward line. So where was the contingency plan for this coming into the game?

The Refs & players abilities to score had big parts to play with the result today, but Voss is still struggling to pull his head out his backside and react to the game as it happens. The Dow sub should have happened after the 3rd goal in the third quarter

I can't think of a worse coach in the AFL who fails to learn from lessons of the past and who fails to adjust in game than Voss.

Weiters held a very in form Wright to one goal last year. The smart move would have been to return to that matchup and exploit the fact that it's Wright's first game of the year. Get some intercept and run from a guy underdone.

What's he do? Sticks a horribly out of form and low confidence Lewis Young on him and fails to change the matchup as Wright is tearing us apart.

Scott makes several changes at half time. Voss does nothing. The changes Scott makes work. Voss doesn't even try and counter what's happening.

Cripps is either injured or failing to get involved. He is allowed to play the same way all game. Voss does nothing to get him involved or to change the matchup like Scott did with Merrett

Somebody zombify Voss, please.

Obliterated in the 3rd but won the 1st 2nd and 4th quarters.

I'm not sure it's system anymore. How many non-pressured inside 50 entries missed the target tonight? Or kicked to the defenders advantage?

That is the fault of the coaching.

We set up to bomb the ball in the air inside 50 deep out to the pockets. Not working. Never has in my book but we're still doing it.

Opposition keep 1 extra in defence and kill us off.

We have no answer for this cunning plan of Opposition coaches (that has been pretty standard practice for about 20 years).

Pretty sure my five-year-old would beat Voss at chess - my five-year-old just started learning chess this week.

Ed was very solid on Merrett in the first half and then Voss failed to counter Brad Scott moving him into the forward half.

Changed the game
You'd think we'd have had Ed following Merrett to any position on the ground, especially the way that first half went. Merrett is not such a good forward that he's going to exploit any of Ed's deficiencies. Not only would it have been the simplest tactic, it was also the best one. So, what were we thinking?

Tackles, sticking marks, having too many drawn into every single contest, holding the ball in tackles* and more are obviously key issues, but so many of our problems simply come from panicked kicks. Panicked kicks in defence, to no one, which land around the 50, panicked up and under kicks into our F50 from anywhere forward of centre, and then, as tonight, panicked snaps at goal where we're lucky for a score, any score, but just as often end up with nothing to show.
Thought TDK was one of the only ones who actually looked before he kicked it.

Enough of blaming the coach. The lowest tackle count for a game in 8 years. This is a player attitude and effort problem. 8 players 0 tackle. 6 players 1 tackle.

It's both. It's not one or the other

Coach and players are both at fault.

To the shithouse,
even.

A lot of positives to take out of today, our VFL side had a good win, I’m sure there are some players we can bring up for next weeks game - it’s always good to have competition for senior places.
I'm looking for some solid improvement in the next 1-2 weeks.

Cunningham played well in VFL, could impact in 1-2 weeks. Jack Martin will be better for the run, reckon he'll really blossom in 1-2 weeks.

The afl should be investigated Lewis Young for match fixing he literally didn't go with 20m of his opponent all night

As flipping usual..poor kicking and a patch of footy where we turn into witch's hats kills us.

Despite how badly we played, we still had enough of the ball to win but no.. 2.5 in the second and 1.6 in the last..just not good enough.

Really don't know what's happening with our boys but I'm done and need a break from them

Voss was hired for a job he was never good at. His record is pathetic. He even earned himself the nickname “crazy vossy” industry wide.

To hire him as coach amongst many other competent and even outstanding candidates is unbelievable.

Pure incompetence.

Who is going to take accountability for this? Someone must be made accountable for such a disgraceful and brain dead move.
