I know this post is tongue in cheek but I don’t see why we’d bid on Ashcroft. We won’t benefit from late picks being moved up. Yes it’d be benefitting Brisbane but it’d be disadvantaging several other clubs.

Bidding on a player will give the Club extra time to make a decision.

I can see actually North bidding on him, in case there is any late enticing trades for Pick 2.

I think it WAS a bit like that, but clubs will accept the odd F/S gun more than the constant flood of northern academy kids who we are almost always no chance of getting.

They can put their midfield development on hold for at least a year or two, given how young their mid core is. The only thing that might blow it up is butters leaving but they've got him for another 2 at least.
