For all the complaining the saints have done and calling Josh a traitor. This is exactly what the StKilda Football Club was trying to achieve with their negotiations from the second they realised he wasn't taking their low ball first offer in March.

They thought they could keep him in the low pay bracket due to his loyalty. He didn't sign so they left it and were laughing all the way to the draft. Until they caught wind late in the season that band 1 was 900k per year and only 5 years and we were not paying that much.
