An OT at pick 1 👀

Best LT for me since Joe Thomas and second best prospect OL prospect in Last 10 years after Sewell.
Joe alt ticks all the boxes his dad was a 13 year nfl player at LT with 2 pro bowls plus brother plays in nhl so has the pedigree.
Started 3 years at LT for Notre given up 4 sacks, 23 pressures and 4 penalties in his career. Last year as no 1 LT in college football he gave up 1 sack, 5 pressures, 2 penalties was ranked best pass blocker and 3rd best run blocker. His just so technically sound and still growing into his 21 year old body which is 6’8 and 323 pounds and still has some room to add some more strength.

Not doubting his talent but I’d be astounded if he’s taken before Williams or Harrison jnr

Take a brave gm to do it and they have to QB already no team without a quality qb is passing on either of top 3 QBs in this draft. Since it is most important position and hardest to fill if not drafting at the top.

Wouldn't surprise me if one of other qbs or wr's at top of the draft has a better career than Harrison or Williams. I would be shocked if Alt isn't best LT of this draft.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Bears want “historic compensation” for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
According to Rapoport, one source told him the trade offer “would have to be ‘crazy’” for the Bears to consider moving the No. 1 overall pick, which was acquired from the Panthers last season in a trade that sent the No. 1 overall pick to the Panthers so they could draft Bryce Young. While the Bears still have Justin Fields on the roster, this is perhaps the best indicator that they are eyeing Caleb Williams in this year’s draft. Long considered to be the top quarterback of the 2024 draft class, Williams would effectively take the place of Fields, making him an asset the Bears could move in exchange for more picks before the start of the season.

Yep because showing little interest in the QB's and then demanding a historic package in exchange for the pick you dont plan on taking a QB with is the right way to get everyone interested.

the league should just collude and say screw it, they can keep pick 1 and either panic and take a QB thus messing up all their plans or take Alt or Harrison

Where have you read they are not taking a QB?

No where officially. But if you are looking at QBs you don't openly talk about how much you are asking for in return.

If you think the franchise QB is there you are not trading anyway.

I read it as the Bears will select a QB at 1 but are open to ridiculous offers (as you should be) if they are out there. Everyone has a price.

I read that as they are not sold a QB and hoping someone makes a stupid trade.

It reads like a bad PR campaign to sell pick 1.
I guess we will find out more at the underwear Olympics in a few weeks if they are thinking about using pick 1 or just trying to con someone into a Panthers type trade

The report is directed at one team in particular and noone else imo.

They are basically saying to Washington "If you want Caleb so bad, you better make us an offer too good to refuse"

I reckon a 2nd and conditional 2025 pick depending on fields and playing time. Too many teams need QBs
I feel that's too high for him.
Sure his highlights are great but the other 90% of his play isn't that.

One or two teams will miss out on a qb during draft and be sucked into it. Too much demand and not enough supply
If he is moved it's pre draft. Draft day trade would look bad, because if they take Caleb at 1 they just tanked Fields value. There would be a bigger market pre draft before teams finalize big boards

I still believe top 4 will be Caleb, Maye, Daniels and MHJ in some sort of order. It's just which team's are going to be picking them is all that needs to be sorted. Once that is sorted Fields will have a market I believe some teams will think they can win with him. Atlanta comes to mind.

It looks likely with 3 QB needy teams in the tip 3 picks. But doing the smart thing and getting a stud WR for the QB you paid 2 years ago seems too simple for Arizona, they should do it but could just mess it up and go defensive or Alt

If new england goes MHJ i think arizona trades down for a team wanting whoever left of QB's but otherwise they need to go MHJ. If they went Alt i would be shocked but i think his a 10 year pro bowl LT so i wouldn't hate the pick plus gotta remember arizona has pick 27 too so might think could get a decent wideout at 27 i doubt you will get LT at that pick.

Pats can't pass of Daniels or Maye. Getting Jones a WR won't do jack to change them.

I feel it goes top 3 QB, MHJ and then Alt for the Chargers. Giants either go WR or trade

Maybe they go fields ? Pretty sure Bears would prefer to trade him to AFC and their 3rd is basically a late 2nd.
