Found a friend your highnessWouldn't go that far , but it's just an odd issue to get worked up about Imo![]()
I think it's worth remembering that Daniel Hoyne and the folks at Champion Data have every stat on every player in the competition, and so they could feasibly come to "shocking" conclusions about hundreds of players. They're selective with the ones they choose to go public with, and they've gone with this one because they know that "Errol Gulden = bad for Sydney's midfield" will generate the most attention.
Unfortunately they were correct in that assumption.
FWIW I don't have a problem with Gulden at centre bounces (I did earlier in the year but I've come around to it.) I think we have a midfield that is in the process of gelling. They're breaking even most weeks but are still gonna have their down performances where they are simply well-beaten. For this reason I'd imagine none of our four main mids would have stellar success rates when it comes to centre clearances, so it's not that surprising the worst of those four main mids has the worst in the comp.
They're all getting better though. Some of our midfield work at centre bounces this year is as good as it's been since at least 2016, especially, but hopefully not culminating in, that third quarter against Carlton. So that's the take away for me. Happy to take the good with the bad, so long as we see enough of the good.
And we do , this is where i don't have a flying #### where your coming fromI think the takeaway from it is at 10-1 we still have improvement we can get from this side which is a massive positive .
Gulden can take centre bounces, heck Gulden can do anything , but there are ways we can maximise our superstar , that's all.

With Simpsons cartoons , don't you dare sportI am going to get a job at champion data just so I can share all their data here, given how popular it is with some.
Hence my previous comment.I feel like I've made a mistake or am too old to understand a euphemism or something
Why would he play Cleary this week when Jordon is going to be needed on ball as Holmes is a midfielder and not off half back for the last month. Can't believe Horse hates Cleary
For Cats: Tuohy & Conway out injured, O’Sullivan and Mitch Hardie into the 26
No current season stats available
EmergencyHope O’Sullivan plays. Am very curious to see how he goes. Who knows maybe we will gat a chance to trade for him
Was just in jest. I'm just really keen to see Cleary at senior level, but I'm glad we have a 23 so strong that he's not quite in the frame yet. I'm also happy he'll get some experience as a senior emergency. Why would he play Cleary this week when Jordon is going to be needed on ball as Holmes is a midfielder and not off half back for the last month.
Fair i did mean to say that Jordon would swap in immediately off the half forward area when centre bounces occur but around the ground stoppages there would be just too many on ballers for Cleary to have any use atmWas just in jest. Re Holmes, IF he plays in the mids this week (which he may, given Dangerfield's still out), I think Jordon will just do what he did against Anderson from the Suns. Play off a wing/flank and then push up to mind him at stoppages, as we're not gonna use a centre bounce spot on Jordon.
