An excellent performance from LeRay who showed his positional versatility by playing as a third tall defender in this game. He used his height to disrupt in the air and then punished his less mobile opponents by running off them repeatedly to get involved in attacking moves higher up the ground.

Even the threat of it though, currently they would have pick 7 (tdk compo) when adding in the wce compo based on the ladder, if they get one more win (port or essendon) they are likely to jump up as well. It's probably to close to not trade the pick out, similar to kako last yr with Essendon, if they trade it he probably won't be bid on until after they would have used the pick however if they dont someone would probably bid on him

They don't need to. They don't have a early pick in this year's draft anyway

The TDK compo gets them pick #7 or so. If Carlton doesn’t trade then they’ll potentially just get Dean this year, and Walker next year as he’s headed for top-2 and any pick they have will be gobbled up by a bid.

So I can’t see them risking walking away from 2025 and 2026 with just 2 x top-10 picks.

They give us pick-7 (TDK compo) and a F1 for pick-4 and a F2, they still get Dean and Walker, plus an extra top-5 pick.

It’s a no-brainer for them and a no-brainer for us …. unless we have our eyes on a player we badly want that we know won’t be there at #7 in the open draft.
