Maybe the 1 year gap between his OOC next year and tassie coming in might help?

They needed more points for Ison too, plus Walker next yearThey could’ve kept them and let 11 slide a couple spots so that they still grabbed a player somewhere between 14-16.
Tbh looks like a very average set of trades for Carlton unless they got intel that Dean is getting a super early bid.
If my guess is right, it won't matter as i think we are going to take thredgold with our 1st and that will be earlier than what most clubs would see him at. If thats right, there is no point trading up as we should be sure to get him anywayAlso keep in mind that Suns will trade out of 15 which pushes our pick down once again.
Too early for mine, even though our first gets pushed back into the 20s.If my guess is right, it won't matter as i think we are going to take thredgold with our 1st and that will be earlier than what most clubs would see him at. I think that they will definately try, but who has the picks to do it?Also keep in mind that Suns will trade out of 15 which pushes our pick down once again.
If that defender is Oskar Taylor I won’t be complainingSounds like it might be an uneventful daft night for us, taking a defender in to mid 20s with our first pick who we won't see play for a year or two.
This is not a bad play at all if still available. I'm interested on your feedback, if Barker, Marsh and Farrow are available, which one would you pick? Assuming we stay at pick 16My gut feel at this point if we stay where we are with our 1st rounder we will take Harley Barker if his ACL recovery is ticked off by our medical team....of course contingent on him being available.
A 2.87 20m and an 8.00 Agility test at preseason testing is quite impressive.
I can definitely identify with your red flags and quite possibly I think your right that there might be some high draft picks that bust or become sub par AFL players, like a Will Phillips. Having said all that I think there's a good chance that there's a lot of depth in regards to Smokey's that will go later in the draft.I feel like there is a lot of dancing around the topic of how bad this draft is. That's what most people are saying without explicitly saying it
A rubbish draft crop is going to be much harder to predict, and there will be much more variance in opinion as pundits try to slot below average players into high draft positions
Several major red flags to me are 1) ranking a lot of SA players inside the first round, given SA players historically underperform their draft position; 2) the talk of several bewildering draft bolters including a 20-year-old SA small forward and 3) clubs really devaluing 2025 draft picks at the trade table
Has the feel that there will be some all time busts in this draft at very high picks
I am not so sure. Just have a feeling he will be the player we pick. Maybe with an eye for butts leaving end of next year and we get a year of development into Thredgold and aim for him tp be starting to play games in 2027...Too early for mine, even though our first gets pushed back into the 20s.
Perhaps not "too early" but im not sure hes a need.
We're in an awkward spot.
Complete bullshit. Another horseshit move by the AFL to remove more fairness and integrity from the draft. **** you AFL.
Barker over Farrow only because it's lineball SA vs WAThis is not a bad play at all if still available. I'm interested on your feedback, if Barker, Marsh and Farrow are available, which one would you pick? Assuming we stay at pick 16
Considering it’s only November 2025, any idea where their 2026 draft picks will fall is just speculation. How is port looking in regards to 2026 first round picks?

I was more interested if they had any future first's tied to other teams, my badConsidering it’s only November 2025, any idea where their 2026 draft picks will fall is just speculation.
We're actually in the best spot in this draft - there's not much top of the draft talent, but a lot of players who are really promising late first round talent.Too early for mine, even though our first gets pushed back into the 20s.

I'm thinking that we have worked out that the player we were hoping to get with pick 9 or 11 will most likely be gone by then so decided it wasn't worth trading up.Seeing what Carlton are giving up for 9 & 11 really makes we should be getting involved.
What you now don't want is them to finish bottom or even bottom 2 as the last thing you want is for them to getca pick in ahead of a cochrane bid and get 2 top ranked kids. But after that, yep they will have to pay a price in 1sts to get him
I was more interested if they had any future first's tied to other teams, my bad
