Talent potential…Hetherton! Agree not a real need but we are still drafting talent. 4 talls leaving. So much talk about who we will take at 3 & 4.
Who we taking with the Young pick? You'd think it will be someone quick. Latrelle Pickett obviously has the hype but only a state combine invite.
Leon Kickett I've posted a couple of times us being linked to. Felt like a rookie but he was a National Combine guy.
Still like the idea of Jack Dalton to play a Kane Lambert role off half forward swapping with Lalor after the centre bounces.
Talor Byrne kicked 5 in the game against VM. Has played more midfield but clearly a small forward at top level.
Tom Burton small half back but can rack it up and moves well. Tested quicker than Grlj.
Don't mind Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier as a hbf with a quick burst and elite skills. Hasn't actually played this role though when I've seen him.
Last one not a need but could we grab a Liam Hetherton who was touted a top 10 KPF to start the year, kicked 11 in 3 games and played in the Academy team then injured his back.
Not when the buyer is the pick behind you. There would be no need for them to trade if you do that. Eg they say Robey. If that's our man we say no. We will have to go blind on this. If we said yes to them then they know there is no need to trade.
Alright forget the fact that they have a pick right behind us. Let’s say it’s a different team who are strategically trading with us to pick someone available. Would we ask them who they want prior to the trade? Always wanted to know.Essendon will only trade with us if they think/know we are going to pick the player they want. Why would they trade up to select a CDT if they know we are not interested in him? So really if we trade the pick assume they want who we are looking at.
Remember who had the last laugh in carrieAs Richmond pass on Robey on Prom Night.

I posted a while back Hetherton was a player to get with a late pick. One of the smoothest moving big guys you’d find. If we have a late pick I hope we get him. A better prospect than Kellaway.Talent potential…Hetherton! Agree not a real need but we are still drafting talent. 4 talls leaving.
Byrne and Burton underrated all year. Dalton got some love late. All reasonable choices.
Would love Barker but that is wishful. Leray more a chance.
I’ll throw in Rory Wright. Only watched him a couple of times, but thought he’s got some AFL traits.
I’ve got a strange feeling that WC will take Duursma & CDT. Given the configuration of Optus and his Combine results it would be a no brainer for them not to take CDT. Plus, he fills a hole on their list.I would still be happy with
Sharp - Cumming - Kellaway trifecta
If we trade down to get an extra 2nd rounder then even better
Duursma - Nah he is a Duursma
CDT - Im worried about his leap at only 200cm

I think most recruiting teams know who other clubs are interested in taking, especially in the first Rd. If we want robey for example we wouldn't trade with a team looming at taking him. Or we trade pick 4 instead of 3 so we get our first choice in.Alright forget the fact that they have a pick right behind us. Maybe come inside then?So quiet and still outside very eary feeling like something really weird is about to happen
The silence is deafining
Not Robey.Remember who had the last laugh in carrie
I doubt we take that speculated Eagles deal from yesterday(3 & 4 for 2 13 34 & 38), but doing so would open up the option to take some of those talents you named with later picks, while still giving us the chance to secure a couple of the top rated kids.So much talk about who we will take at 3 & 4.

It's even worse insideMaybe come inside then?
But carrie didNot Robey.
Had a vision. picks 3 & 4 for Essendons 30/83 & F1.So quiet and still outside very eary feeling like something really weird is about to happen

I remember Blair Hartley saying that Richmond has only ever asked a club once and was told the player before we made the trade. So yes we could ask the question. If they refuse to tell us, then we’d have to decide if the risk of losing our preferred player is worth the compo.Alright forget the fact that they have a pick right behind us. Don't want it either.![]()
That deal was a dud. We will get one of those picks around there for Young. 13 & 34 for 4 so we can upgrade from 3 to 2 and take the guy WC don't want? Nah
I’ve got a strange feeling that WC will take Duursma & CDT. Given the configuration of Optus and his Combine results it would be a no brainer for them not to take CDT. Plus, he fills a hole on their list.
That then leaves us with picking two players from Robey, Taylor, Cumming & Sharp. Out of these 4 who is the most talented and has the highest ceiling.
Not really familiar with him, but sounds a bit Shaun Mannagh’ish?Hahaha just giving the reasons why hes a chance to be there late.
Guys at that size need to have elite speed or skills to go high imo.
What he does have is a huge tank, work rate, ability to find the footy, IQ and defensive/contested game.
Lambo was small, wasn't express and could barely kick 45 but he was all the same positives and it took a while for a team to recognise that and pick him and he became an integral part of 3 flags.
Yes.I think we are more likely to take a chance on him if we get a better pick for Young (e.g. 34) and then trade it to slide back in the 2025 draft and ensure we don't over-pay. For example, if we can turn 34 into pick 50 + F3 then that works nicely for us.
can we get FOS insteadGirl is a tough campaigner. What a terrible comparison

I am always happy to hear others' opinions, as well as all the good folks on BF and PRE.
Jordan from centre half bench, he says bombers from reports, rumours want Robey and could well offer us picks 5 and 6 for our pick 3 and picks going back.
Jordan says if i were Richmond, i would decline it as he thinks Robey will be a star.
I like Robey too and hope we draft him and for our 2nd pick, any of sharp, cumming and Grjl
If we do happen to split pick 3, this can only happen if Robey isnt on our radar, if he is, then no way, no deal.
If we keep 3 and decide to split Pick 4, it would have to seriously advantage us or again no deal.
What are everyone's thoughts on this if picks 5 and 6 were offered for our pick 3?
If we had to give something back, I'd say F3 only. If they want pick 3 so much, then pay up and don't expect a lot back, just like North did, giving us their F1.
