With CDT’s testing at the Combine, I was wondering whether he could play in the backline similar to Harris Andrew’s. We slowly develop him to slot into one of the key defensive roles. There’s questions on whether Gibcus will get back to his best with his myriad of injuries, Millers only signed to 2027 and we’ve always got the option with Balta to play him as a swing man.
Think your selling a few short from the other kidsIt’s not that I believe Robey will be a star, it’s that there is a clear separation of class/potential/tiers between the top group of Duursma, Patterson, Uwland, Robey, CDT and Annable (though I personally think cdt isn’t in this group but going by general power rankings). IMO you don’t trade out of a group of draftees to the next tier when you’re in our position.
The reality is we have zero players on our list who are top 5 players in a finals team like we did with Dusty/Cotch/Rance/Jack which means a player like TT has to be our best player when he’s far more productive as the 5-10 player like Prestia. Lalor/Hotton/Smil look like they could get into that kind of top 5 but none are there and in the meantime we need talent, talent and more talent.
yeah i reckon thats the ruck profile we're targeting and I like it. roos and dees have dominant ruckmen and look how thats going. much better off with a versatile athletic beast thats competitive in the ruck but elite across the ground.Maybe play him in the VFL midfield, bit of ruck and mid/forward.
he probably won't be ready for the AFL for a couple of years.
If they develop well a Sims CDT combo would give other teams major headaches. Not dominant rucks, but genuinely athletic and skilled. Would almost give us an extra mid all game every game - that is wroth a lot (if it happens)

that's right, not trading down, the focus is on quality and premiershipsHe isn't here to get blow jobs either
"Trading our Future 1st" LOL

And ya call me senile.

Maybe we can trade our F1 back in when we're in our windowMagic,
It's absolutely nuts for us to go trading out our F1. We are probably going to end up bottom 4. That's primo draft bounty for next year and shouldn't be squandered. If anything we should be trying to get someone else's F1 and probably the only way we do it is by sending our F2 back the other direction (as part of a pick swap with this year's picks).
It's not like we are throwing around future picks to get (say) Butters from Port, nor do we have bids to match and need 1R picks this year. It's not like we are likely to finish high next year and are prepared to risk a mediocre pick.
It's cool to brainstorm this kind of stuff but it's more realistic to do it with splitting pick number 4.
We play CDT on the wing with his athleticism it makes his development wayyy quicker than a standard lanky ruck. We would be insane not not take him if he is there at our pick.Maybe play him in the VFL midfield, bit of ruck and mid/forward.

Darcy is 6'6 and CDT is 6'5 he would be a nightmare for any defender or forward wherever he gets played with his pace
My take on those two is Grlj has to date demonstrated he more weapons at his disposal than Cummings, and is a point of difference to other young mids we have taken. He reminds me of a Cotchin in some respects with his line running, gait, quick hands and the way he attacks the contest.![]()
Sam Cumming Draft Profile
North Adelaide prospect Sam Cumming is a powerful and competitive midfielder-forward with strong work rate.central.rookieme.com
I can’t decide if we take Cumming or Grlj to go with Robey.
Grlj offers genuine elite pace and natural line breaking ability. Cumming a more natural mid and forward with high level pace.
Who would you be looking at?Im not a fan of picking a Ruck in the top end of the draft
specially a short Ruckman 200cm
that has a bad leap
Happy to trade back to Carltons picks #10 + #11 should they get that pick
I think your correct
X.Taylor is the one, he can play anywhere !My take on those two is Grlj has to date demonstrated he more weapons at his disposal than Cummings, and is a point of difference to other young mids we have taken. He reminds me of a Cotchin in some respects with his line running, gait, quick hands and the way he attacks the contest.
I think most teams will rate him marginally higher than Cummings. I think we will too.
Cummings skill set is similar in many respects to other young mids we have taken, but he could very well end up a better player than Grlj with his forward craft, despite being a bit slower. He reminds me alot of a taller Ben Keys.
I would be just as happy with Sharp & CummingWho would you be looking at?
I would assume the big 4 Taylor Cumming grlj Schubert (not really relevant to us) would be all off the table?
Nank is 199cm and he can't jump over a jam tin."Let’s draft this short ruckman who can’t jump so we can play him on the wing." Ffs.

Maurice Rioli was 176cm and a Norm Smith winner .... sorry for putting facts in your story.
Tanner Armstrong was Under 16 National Carnival Vic Country coaches MVP plus All Australian honors in 2024... sorry more facts
He also collected 25 disposals and 7 clearances in the Futures game on Grand Final day this year.
Definitely no guarantee any player we would take with the picks 7 (12) and 11 (17), you want to trade for, will be better than Tanner let alone better than the player available with the Top 5 pick in next year's draft that you want to trade away
Now I am going to put you on ignore before you respond saying that our F1 next year won't be in the Top5. That is what North thought when they traded us Pick 3 (4).
Can someone let me know how I put Mr Magic on Ignore?
Good way to avoid a question.I find it funny how clubs say "we will go away after the trade period and finalise our draft order". It makes no sense that they haven't already got a very, very good idea about where and how they rate the current crop of potential draftees. How can you start trading picks around if you don't have any idea of their real value to your club? On top of that, what have they been doing all year if they haven't got their order pretty much sorted?
Yeah I agree about the wingWe play CDT on the wing with his athleticism it makes his development wayyy quicker than a standard lanky ruck. We would be insane not not take him if he is there at our pick.
