RT, you’re shifting the posts here. Whether the club digs into why his improvement came late is one thing, and obviously they should, plus we are all aware growing 20cm in hurry was a big part of that.

But that’s not the same as being less keen because he doesn’t have a junior file from age 15. That’s exactly the kind of inflexibility Im talking about letting the absence of old data drag down the judgement of what he’s producing right now.
Not shifting the posts at all.

I stated that I believe the club may not be as in love with Robey as some on here are, where it's pretty much pick the kid or it's a failure, because unlike the kids that they have been following for years there just isn't that depth of information to build a really strong case for drafting him.

I then expanded on that to give the reasons why I believe that may be the case, where it's a case of Robey coming from the clouds to be the bolter of the draft and me hoping that the club would be asking the questions as to why this hasn't happened earlier and just how much improvement there is still in the kid.

I think it's very valid reasoning as to why this may be the case. For some reason, maybe it's because I'm questioning your boy, you're not happy with it.

RT, it is not about having a boy. You have actually argued two different things here. First you said the club may not be as keen because there is no years of data on Robey. Then you shifted to him being a late bolter and whether the improvement is sustainable. Now you are making it about me.

My point from the start has been simple. The absence of years of junior notes should not drag down their judgement of what he is producing now. That is the inflexibility I am talking about. Lindsay had all the junior hype and years of data behind him and he is the one sliding.

I've argued nothing.

I've stated an opinion, and the reasons why, where I believe the club may not be as in love with Robey as posters on here are due to them not having the same in depth knowledge of him that they have of other kids hence not being sucked in by a bolter and are actually ranking him accordingly. So while many on here, myself included have put him well inside the top 10 of our rankings, maybe just maybe the club don't have him as high as we all do.

From memory ... he ran 6.45 for the 2km and 3.12s for the 20m

For reference ... slower than

Smilie who ran 6.39 min and 3.09s
Grjl 5.59min & 2.93s
With a broken wing though.

Let's just say there might be a reason behind his meteoric rise up the draft rankings... pre Eastern Ranges days and how he became to be noticed suddenly.

Read between the lines and you'll get where I'm coming from.

I like the kid a lot, impressed me when I watched the Coates league GF at Ikon Park, but the rumours I'm hearing are red flags in my book.

RT, giving reasons for your opinion (which is wrong) is literally arguing.

Definition: Cambridge Dictionary – Argue “to give reasons for or against something.”

So yes, you are arguing. Anyway this is going in circles.

If you say so.

Also giving reasons as to why I believe in my opinion isn't arguing, it's clarifying it and I'm not trying to get you or anyone else to change your opinion

It’s shithouse vaguely insinuating negative things about a kid, to pump up your own self importance

With a broken wing though.
Sure but it it does seem safe to conclude that he is a similar athlete to Smilie when he is fit ... so you would draft him on his football ability ... his ability to find space is first rated ... I see him being successful as a high HF that also runs through the midfield. This is a similar role to Cumming ... is he better than him?

Reckon he could play deep fwd, HFF and long term you would want him 80/20 mid/fwd.

You cant underestimate the impact an injury like that has an running.

Not pumping up my own self importance at all… got busy at work and didn’t have a chance to reply. I’m not gonna post exactly what it is that I’ve been told in a public forum.
Someone above just mentioned it!

If you are insinuating PED use then I find that quite unlikely.
The amount of natural testosterone in a 17 year old kids body is already at lifetime peak levels. The amount of PEDs that would need to be taken to not only match existing levels, but to then provide a significant increase in performance would be around the levels of a Mr Olympia body builder and would have lifetime impacts on their endocrine system and growth plates.
It also wouldn't explain the sudden growth spurt, in fact, the complete opposite would typically be the case.

Think he went into a tent on school camp and it was a girls. Should get to pick 38
That just makes him proactive. Did that on a school camp myself. Makes him normal.

He is one of the youngest lads in the draft class, right? That his natural growth came later than others in this draft class would be expected ...

It also makes him one of the most intriguing prospects ... in some ways you need to project where he would be at if he was being drafted next year ...

We were in a similar situation drafting Jasper Alger last year where it is possible that he would be ranked higher than Dovaston in this class
