Geez there’s been a lot of crap written on this thread. Cant believe I’ve read it all!

bull crap.

I don't believe ya

You said "I'm very confident on what I know". Care to share that detail?

Not sure what more you want.

I heard independently through someone that Hartley flew up today and was met by Cumming and his family.

Then touched based a person I know in the Richmond recruiting area (pretty much my only ‘source’ in club land, who I’ve mentioned previously) who confirmed you guys were super keen.

Appreciate the info mate. Some on our board don't deal well with inside info so if anyone gives you a hard time don't take it personally.

If he tracks better than 20% accuracy he will be showered with love 😁

Really hope this is correct and Sam Cumming is at Richmond
Kid has exactly the traits required to become a very very good and possibly A grade footballer

There is a difference between ESPN draft nuffies and our actual full time recruiters who's job it is to track these kids years before they are due to be drafted.

There is no shortage of people who like to reply being a smartarse to the question, without actually adding anything remotely to the question i actually asked

Duursma appears to be the consensus #1 draft pick this year, across all Phantom Drafts. Some years you have a #1 pick who is head & shoulders above the rest, or other years where you can have 4-5 guys legitimately have a argument to being the #1 pick. It appears Duursma has a pretty rock-solid claim to the #1 spot this year, the question is "by how much". Both Rowell & Lalor are #1 picks, but I think Rowell certainly entered that draft considered a generational talent. Same with Harley Reid. Question is does Duursma have that in him, or is he closer to a Gibbs, Scully, McCartin, Raynor, McGrath field?

Our pick 2,3 are effectively 5,6 on most Phantom drafts due to the Academy & Compo pick rort thats inplace. With Tasmania coming in ^ the Academy system rorting worse and worse, this might be the last chanced to get a genuine #1 pick talent for a decade. The next few drafts are compromised by FOS, Academy & Tasmania & other clubs getting compo packages & picks.

I think it makes more sense for the Eagles to "trade down" to get a warchest of picks moving forward than us. We already have 10 kids that look likely to have good careers expected from 1st, 2nd round players & I think our club has shown over the last decade we are one of the best when it comes to finding "important role players" from anywhere. Baker, Lambert, Castagna, Butler, KMac, Astbury, Bolton, Rioli, Pickett,Toby, Broad, Graham etc etc etc - the list goes on & on. Where we struggled is finding "tippy top"

Since the late 80s i'd say we have only really had Richo, Cotchin, Dusty, Jack & possibly Rance we have recruited that had that clear "Generational Talent" tag & 80% of that success came together over a very short year spam - which means that we only managed to do it a couple of periods in 40 years. We might finish in the bottom 3 for another 3 years & never genuinely get a Top 5-8 player/pick in the draft due to all the "*" picks. I am not really convinced yet Lalor is going to be that Dusty/Rowell level player, he might, but its certainly not a sure thing.

So to be clear, i am not even suggesting (yet) its something we should think about, im just asking is Duursma the most clear #1 pick in this draft that every single club would 100% take him #1 if they held the pick.

2nd half was what I was asking about. Cheers.

haha I still want Sharp and Robey but I can see the attraction to Cumming and would not be sad about it.

Not being a smartarse at all. Yes, would make more sense for West Coast to trade down but not for us to trade up. Even if we did, I'm almost certain we wouldn't rate him #1.

Lalor will be an absolute gun. He has had 1 year in the system spoiled by injuries. He will be fine.

We are in a good spot with our current picks. If we trade, it will be to trade down the order for something heavily in our favour.
