Going to be a sad, wasted career if he doesn't do something about his current plight

Yeah but none of the 2024 draft compared to the Norf youngsters richoatthedisco

Will Ferrell Lol GIF by First We Feast
Master drafters Sphynxter and Wild Bullsh!t would still take Colby McTerrified at pick 1 last year. They're experts. Norf have great talent, all better than Sam Lalor or anyone in last year's draft.

Alastair Clarkson reckons he’s a defender :/

There's the difference between Clarko and Dimma. Clarko gives his top kids (Cheezel, McChipscab as well) the soft ride at half-back. Dimma puts them forward and says get a kick (watch Leo Lombard start as a forward when his shoulder's right). Looks like Yze is from the Dimma school. Good.

Might be worth swapping someone with Sonsie the way he plays in VFL instead of medium forward though. He’s no good there.

Just saw before we’ve only got two picks currently in the draft, 2 first rounders. 2nd, 3rd and 4th are traded out.

Will be interesting to see how we get back into the draft.
We dont need to get back in
Just take our 2 picks and the Kellaway kid

Because he’s played out of position.
He’s a mid. That’s it. Can’t play anywhere else by the seems of it.
No, that's not it.

It's football, mate. There is a much bigger difference between VFL mid and AFL mid than there is between AFL mid and AFL half-forward.

Anyway, he played well tonight. Good on him.

Well we don't actually know do we. People just say he's no good, yet evertime he plays midfield he dominates. I don't care what level your playing, 36 disposals and 1 goal to 3qtr time tell me you can find the ball.

We continuously lose disposal numbers by 20-50 at AFL level because our midfield is inept. I'd love to see him in for a month so we can make an accurate assessment on his ability to play AFL.

2nd and 3rd round picks are pretty average this year… there’s a reason we traded them.
Our 2nd rounder will be in the early 30s lol. (Poor norf)

I suspect we do.

Last night was one of the few times I'd say he dominated. As I said, good on him.

Our inept midfielders wipe the floor with Sonsie at training. 18-year-old outside rookie AFL opponents out-bustle him and attack the ball harder.

Tyler is not being persecuted. He is getting the treatment his actions have warranted. There are non-negotiables AFL midfielders or wannabes need to meet, and one of them is not taking your eye off the ball when the bad guys come at ya like he does multiple times per game, even in the VFL. I didn't see him do that last night so maybe there is hope. Good on him for that.

wonsie 35 touches in 3 qtrs in vfl. and they were good possys, he played in the guts.....it aint rocket science
We should definitely play him mid in the AFL side next time we play Frankston. ;)

Seriously, though. Last night was good. But he plays back of the stoppage sweeper in the VFL. Easiest role at clearance: come through in the direction we're attacking. (See Smillie burst through against the tide and feed him a couple of times? Mouth-watering.)

The issue with translating the role he plays in the VFL to the AFL is the comparative lack of time and space in the big league. They're on you quicker, not just your oppo mids but their high half-forwards hitting you from behind. They're bigger, they're faster, they hit harder, and to date that has caused Tyler to lift his head, take his eyes off it and fumble the pill.

He looked great last night. More of that and maybe we can say he's turned a corner. But it's simplistic and wrong to say he's only not doing it at AFL level because he's being played out of position. Footy's footy. No matter what position you're in, you go when it's your turn, you fight hard, you don't take your eye off the ball. If you fail that against a jib half-back-flanker you're gonna get eaten by Tom Liberatore.

what if he gets bid on prior? do we have to scrambled to make up points or something?
Yes or we just lose points in corresponding round next year which should be **** all.

I can't see him getting bid on in the first 36/7 picks whatever it is.

By time the other 20 academy kids are bid plus the open pool guys get taken he will be in the 40/50 range.

Won't matter if we have a slight 2nd round deficit next year if Armstrong, Leys & Daffy all develop we will just be bid matching after our 1st.

If they are any good, and we get Harley, can see us trading 1 of our 1st in 25 and our first in 26 and taking back wce 2nd and 3rd in 26.
