Well as someone that firmly believes Voss will be gone by about Round 8 I think that '26 pick isn't going to be that bad. If they finish bottom 4 and us top 4 it might only be 10-12 picks the diff. I say this not knowing a damn thing about the new matching rules for F/S and Academy next season.

There's not even really a discussion. He became a mainstay of the side, then after being in contract talks (odd if pushed out), he put them on hold halfway through 2016. We in no way pushed him out, he just took more money, a more prominent place in a midfield and I think his family had moved to Vic from WA as well.

I am pretty sure we have their '27 second rounder and '26 third rounder (from Ollie trade)

Yep I said cheap though , if he's moving here anyway.

Most of our list chase money (rightly so) he is just one we didn't pay

I never liked Tom Mitchell either from the get go

I absolutely loved him at the beginning of his career - he was so exciting! I was there for his debut - I think it was v Essendon. Remember watching his first year or two full of starry eyes. An absolute ball magnet. Tackling hard. Impressing the likes of Luke Hodge with his onfield action. It was later on that things changed. I can't say I remember him too fondly now but early doors I was enamoured.

I never liked Tom either. The moment he signed up, money seemed to be his main priority.

One of the main faults of Longmire I believe is that he seemed to be loyal to players to a fault. Even with ordinary players (Hayward and Florent).

But I think Mitchell was one time he got it right. And Longmires dislike was justified.
