Ended up not going Mills, and going for the spend up to get Tim English instead after the TDK score. Annoying.

Such a mid round. Of my 23 on field, and not including Smith’s 94 as captain:

Xerri and Martin in the 80s
Rozee, Holmes, TDK, Warner in the 70s
JHF, Clarke, Erasmus in the 60s
Bergman, FOS in the 50s

Only Daicos, Sinclair, Green, Bont and English to come so hopefully no 60s left, but I’m going to drop 5 scores between 52 and 69 and still carry 6 premiums sub 85. Annoying.

Currently have English in for Flynn as utility.

And trading out TDK next week most likely given the role.

But would NWM or Darcy be a better bet? Darcy is so hard, the matchup is beaut but the breakeven is high and another week to watch would be nice.

But not going English keeps open the option to keep TDK if they drop pittonet

Up 5 spots but feel like I lost pace with the top end of town. Possibly the most annoying bye round possible - so many guys in the 60s-80s that I dropped a 66, 66, 64, 59 and 52 but kept a 67, 73, 71, 71, 79, 84, 85 and 94*2.

Ended up trading Flynn to English, which I reckon was the best move. Was tossing up him, NWM and Darcy, and while Darcy did exactly what I thought, English scored more and the cash rise differential was 60k.

Also burnt a trade early on Travaglia to McCarthy - have too many good rookies on my bench and needed to cull some, and when Trav was named sub it meant it was time to go. So while I burnt two trades, one was kind of in advance.

256k left for this week.

Still sitting at 21 bona fide premiums + Bergman. Warner/JHF a baby concern for F6.

Have enough cash to trade two of Carroll/FOS/Clarke/Johnson/Erasmus to a basement and a premium. But thinking maybe I sit on that for now as it'll be more important to keep the rookies who'll keep their spots and provide cover in the back end. FOS is pretty fat now, but he's cover whereas I'm not sure Johnson/Clarke/Carroll are.

And not sure which rookies are likely to play out the year. I think May at Essendon seems a likely type, but then of Liddy/Butler/Tauru are any locks for J/S?

Don't love the premium options this week, NWM is priced crazy high and surely gets some tags now, Kennedy is ick and Serong is too high. Maybe Noah Anderson or Hewett? Whitfield in a few weeks at like 800k will be incredible.

Thinking just TDK (provided Pittonet is in) to Darcy and banking 390k for next week, where I'll go one up one down to have 23 and 4 trades left. Would mean I have 21 this week (inc Carroll, FOS, McCarthy, Erasmus)

Only other ? for me is whether Bergman's worth punting now or if that score/role was a one off as he was sick.

I've dropped down to 150 now so I'm not worrying about overall score but concentrating on my cash leagues. I should win both leaving Merrett in . If I wait another week, there would be far more options available to go to if I did decide to trade him out (flex position). I'd rather wait until Whitfield has bottomed out and bring him in in round 19.

I think Darcy is an even better option than Macrae. Take out the game where he got injured very early and scored 8, he has scored at an average of just over 100 in the remaining 8 games. Priced at 81.5 he is a steal.
I'm also concerned about Roberts but even if he does prove to become a liability he'll have to wait till round 19 when Whitfield will have bottomed out.

Tend to agree. I made an absolute rookie error in trading out a premium defender in order to bring Mills in when he could have gone to the flex position. Stupid error that cost me a trade that I can ill afford. With only 5 left and a certain trade in of Whitfield in round 19, I'll just have to keep what I've got.

Traded in English last week after TDK’s stinker with the logic that I can trade TDK to a non ruck but English was either now or never.

Now Pittonet out makes TDK much more appealing to retain. But if I do, I’m burning a ruck in the utility slot and given the 73 is in his price, he’ll drop cash the next couple weeks if I do decide to trade him down the line.

I think saving the trade for now is the option, but it definitely handicaps me a little.

Carroll out is bloody annoying too, was the one week out of the byes I really wanted to keep his number. But think I’ll move him on for a warm body this week now. Maybe Liddy?

Probably keep Bergman too and look to flick him to Whitfield in a couple weeks? Or go Bergman to Darcy and then someone else to whit in 2-3 weeks.

FOS gives me $100k in the bank, but I feel like he's got such great job security he could be held for the whole year?

Clarke/Johnson have the bye this week but more cash to make with lower BE's.

Gained rank, but again feeling like I'm losing ground. A few burnt trades (****ed up a bit on ruck roulette recently, TDK to Marshall back to TDK then English in but keeping TDK and now maybe trading TDK is 4-5 trades, plus Walsh) means I'm not in a great spot.

Shitty premiums the story of the last couple of weeks, Sheezel, Bont, Cerra, TDK, JHF genuinely embarrassing and Butters, English, Xerri also unpleasant.

Ended up trading Clarke out for Jack Macrae last week to get the extra score in, and felt like with how my side is at the moment having an extra forward in my 23 premiums is smart with the doubt over JHF etc.

Would love to roll McCarthy into the mids and loop him with JHF for 23rd score this week but need to wait for Johnson to get def DPP to do that. So probably have to sit him on the bench.

Thinking just FOS out this week, probably to a def/fwd permazero at basement price so I can flick Martin there to cover seamlessly if needed. Should bank 340k cash meaning my last 4 trades can be used to cover injuries/underperformers without needing to compromise. Or in a week or two take Erasmus up to a 24th premium.
