Funny you say that. Heard some interesting coffees this week with Maynard, Lynch, Zorko and Sicily.

Great signs from the young Tigers.
13 players under 50 games for Richmond, very young, no wonder they got belted....

...hang on Saints had 11 players under 50 games.
Saints are the youngest list apart from WCE and Richmond.

Yeah but we have 7 players from a superdraft. Wangerneen-Milera looks a star though.

That is what RTB would have said after we got beaten by GWS in that final back in 2023 when they had too much speed for us.

Since then we have recruited speedy players as you can teach speedy players skills but you can't teach skillful players speed.

If Gout Gout can learn to kick and handball I think we should make a play for him, he could be electric off the half back line.

You sure do.

But history also says that that :

A) not all will make it at AFL level

And/Or

B) not all will make it at Richmond

I believe NAS is a player that is always searching for the best option over the easy option, sometimes it gets him into trouble... I can put up with that.
Just watch Hill tonight, he held the ball for a second or two longer, searching like a spotlight on a foggy night, and then delivered. I bet NAS is watching too. NAS is climbing that mountain, Mt Winmar, week by week. and will plant his number 7 on top next to his #7 brother someday.

It's a real shame about Webster rolling his ankle as he had played one of his best games ever up to that point. When the initial sprain is that painful he'll surely be missing at least a week.
Stocker straight back in for him and Hastie into the 22 to replace O'Connell. Steele also comes back, I'm hoping that Byrnes gets the vest rather than any of the kids. No one at Sandy really demanded selection with their performance - Arie was their best but he has some things to iron out in his game. He could get a gig if the coaches feel that we need to replace the lost height in defence though.

Keeler got a bit more involved which was nice to see and looked a bit more comfortable, but he physically can't compete in one-on-one marking contests or wrestling in the ruck. Needs another pre season or two, but I'd much rather see him continue to play than Cordy.

Collard has absolutely exceeded expectations and can't be dropped after that effort. Henry looks nowhere near it at VFL level and Butler can earn his spot as well. Can't drop Hall either.

Trav looked comfortable and won a nice amount of contested footy. I'd prefer to see more of him rather than Byrnes moving forward. Wilson had an uncharacteristic shocker.

With all this said, we do need to remember that we just steamrolled a team which will be historically bad over the course of the season. 10+ goal drubbings will be a weekly occurrence for Richmond this year.

Out: Webster (inj), O'Connell (conc)
In: Stocker, Steele

B: Stocker, Wilkie, Hastie
HB: Nas, Caminiti, Sinclair
C: Hill, Steele, Wilson
HF: Hall, Sharman, Wood
F: Higgins, Keeler, Owens

Foll: Marshall, mCruy, Windhager
Int: Garcia, Collard, Travaglia, Jones
Sub: Byrnes

Did we had a starting centre bounce of Keeler, Travalgia, Garcia & Macrae at one point?

Was at the game so maybe my eyes deceived me but that’s crazy young
Yeah I saw that too a few times. Trav and Garcia gave a pretty good account of themselves too. Keeler probably needs to put on a bit more muscle if he’s gonna ruck regularly you’d think gets thrown around a little to easily (but otherwise is going well)

I’m actually now wondering why we’d been reluctant to give Trav game time prior to last night. Looked real good to me when he had his chances.

Watched the second half on replay after missing it live, mainly focusing on the less established guys.

Windy gave a solid performance, kept Taranto to minimal impact and gives a good contribution in tight. Still not sure he can be a quality mid when let loose but he's got a lot of the pieces.

Collard definitely doesn't look out of place, 2.2, 2 goal assists, and that chasedown tackle. Will go out when Butler comes back but he's pretty clearly got what it takes to be an AFL level small forward.

Travaglia seemed like he got straight up with the pace, no problems there. Before the draft it felt like he was just going to be an outside guy but no sign of that at this point.

Nas did Nas things. He's definitely biting off a bit much with some kicks but I'm sure he's got the license to do that and as he keeps building experience that will improve further. Don't want to lose him.

Mitch had fun, he's finding his groove as a forward. I wish he could take an overhead contested mark and I wish his set shots were better, but both should keep improving.

Keeler seemed a bit more up with the pace this week, his hands in close are fantastic and he's not disgraced in the ruck. He's nowhere near a tall forward yet but plenty to work with there.

Wilson doubled his possessions in the last quarter - I guess with his tank he's always a chance to do that. Not super busy but he contributes really well despite that.

Hastie popped up and did an ok job in a pretty easy situation (one-way traffic the other way). He's going fine.

Hugo was given responsibility and took it. Best part for me is that he shows signs of being able to run really well from stoppage, he's not just an inside guy but a combo mid. He'll be up and down for a while but looks a monty to make it.

Hall was really impressive, he seems a really natural high half forward. Really consistent in presenting up to the wing, and seems smart with the footy going inside 50. Giving way more than I expected considering it's only his third game.

Caminiti as key back was ok again, if we keep developing him back there I reckon he could be a long-term option, but too soon to really tell.

Lots of positives throughout that, this season will be up and down but definitely seems like a much more positive picture than it was two weeks ago.
