I have been to a lot of StKilda games over the decades.

That was one of the most insipid ever relative to the ability of the players on the field.

Senior players almost entirely were pathetic. Wilkie an almost lone hand.

Poor skills.

No real effort from many.

Poor decision after Poor decision.

No leadership.

Confusion reigned with ball movement apart from the first 20 minutes.

We needed the Benny Hill music at times.

A number of our seniors today look like they may not be capable of playing on next year. That makes the rebuild all the harder.

Very, very disappointing that we could play that badly tonight.

Dish that up for a few more games and Nas will be off, and TDK will not be coming.

Good on you for prioritising your spend for the league that ****s us at every opportunity and not spending directly to the club.
While also complaining that the club is no good.
Jesus.

Ahh spare me, I've spent plenty on the Club champ don't you worry. Can't keep all the memberships when one moves overseas!

To state the bleeding obvious- until we can get a midfield that can compete with the better midfields we are going nowhere.

Hugo gets a pass because he is a kid learning, NAS the same as a mid; Macrae has been great all season but when tagged no one else can step up.

Jones - last legs I’m afraid.

Windy - maybe move to half back - NAS a mid

Steele - if his knee is no good play him forward.

Marshall struggling- preseason injury?

Steele needs to find a second position. When he's having a game like that he's a liability as he has nowhere to go. Does he go back to tagging? Does Windy play more free or on half back? It's serious back to basics time for him. We did well against a strong Port midfield without him.

At this point I'd rather have Garcia, Pou and Windy as young players in there. Combine that with run throughs from others like Nas too.

  • Henry was hardly killing it in the vfl. Hope he’s injured and that wasn’t him playing fit.
  • Ari looks a bit lost.
  • Maxy Heath finally pulled his finger out today, if he don’t get a game next week when we’re desperately crying out for some fwd height he never will.
  • Darcy might need to do a Pou and spend a few weeks in the vfl.
  • Lancey Boy I’m not sure, maybe just give him a bit of free license.
  • Higgo has probably been our best overall player this year.

Used to play forward a bit for the Giants and even us in his first few seasons. His knee is still strapped so I'm gonna tell myself that's why he's trundling around.

I counted 5 frees against Jones in half an hour, only 3 recorded against him somehow.

We made Dogs look a million dollars today.

We sucked, nuff said.
There were some horrendous calls against him late. Not at all the reason we lost, but the umpiring was diabolical as it has been across the league all season.

Marshall didn’t train all week. Had his foot stood on against GWS. Obviously in hindsight should not of played. Thought Hammer busted his guts and apart from one horrid kick was good

Jones got another clothesline unpaid free and gave away two for players butting their heads into his chest.

Player by player breakdown from watching the game live

Higgins - 3 goals was all that saved him from a pretty rough game. Really poor decision making with ball in hand, and cost us a couple good opportunities when we were pressing

Windhager - looked to be minding Richards to start with, and largely held him in check. Got beat on the spread. Part of a disastrous midfield unit

Jones - came on and provided his usual hit or miss. Tried to break tackles. Suspect disposal

Collard - tough game for a small, but didn't seem to make an impact with his pressure. Should stay in the team though

Macrae - absolute nothing game. Struggled to hit targets by foot or by hand. Same as the rest of the mids, but well down on his performances to start the year.

Nas - worth going to the game alone. Not always hitting a target, but moves the ball forward with sheer force of will and gut running. Wish some the others wanted as much as him

Hill - worst on ground, somehow. At least Henry didn't get close enough to the ball to completely **** it up each time. Normally lenient on him, but this was truly embarrassing

Steele - awful. Please be carrying an injury. No other excuse

Owens - worked hard, got rewarded, should not be our main target

Byrnes - irrelevant, which is a step up for him this week. Good for him

Stocker - he is a moment's player. Not consistent enough throughout the game, got beaten often in the second half

Marshall - See Steele. Making English or Lobb look good is a crime

Wilson - kept running at least. Still a while away from being an impact player, nice goal at the end

Henry - HAHAHAHAHAHA

Schoenmakers - not much use having a monster boot with no targets and you never get the ball in transition. Saw him on the wing and immediately was 10 metres behind his opponent. Long way to go yet

Webster - after an awesome start to the year, has been unremarkable the last two weeks.

Wood - could not for the life of him find any space. Bulldogs height left him having not great impact in the air, and forced him to play in the clinches, where he ain't so great

Garcia - hope he watches Libba tape closely. Struggled (like all the mids), don't know what his standout talent is yet

Sinclair - didn't find space, numbers look better than he actually played. Didn't notice him too much tbh

Hall - forgot he was playing, barely saw him til he popped up with a couple dinky possessions in the 4th. Bad day to be a saints small

Sharman - left his goal kicking boots at home, got no help from delivery. Needs another TALL

Wilkie - good, not great, less sure with his marking and disposal than usual, but part and parcel of getting your teeth kicked in

Hammer - some god awful decisions under no pressure. Got beaten, but not too badly.

Sadly the best our midfield has looked this year was against the Tigers and Port when Steele wasn’t playing.

I really hope Steele has a minor knee issue that’s holding him back or we’re in serious trouble when our captain is producing games like that.

Couldn’t get our hands on it in the middle and the dogs absolutely dominated clearance.

Was really hopeful we could win tonight and really set up our top 8 chances.

I hope I’m wrong but it really looks like we are a 10-14 team 😢.

Can't play both Steele and Macrae in the same team. As others have said just why the **** is Steele captain, it's beyond belief. Boxshall needs to be blooded. Persist with Garcia and Windy in the middle. Marshall should be thrown forward and Heath brought in whilst we're devoid of talls.
