Yep... a couple of days ago from memory.
Yeah he's even more of a watch now than he was before that incident. Still plenty of time before the season begins but getting off him would already be hard enough without him getting injured or not scoring what we'd need him to score to make him a viable pick.

Flynn being pretty much the cheapest ruck option available with any value at all makes him a definite skip.
If you need to do a rookie side swap in round 3 but you also have to dump Flynn, youre kinda screwed.

That ankle sounds like it was nothing, but still too hard to pick him, way too risky. Has to be a parachute option for him to be viable

Flynn will be my Darcy parachute if needed early.
and the spare don't work either...

As an Eagles supporter what is your opinion on Archer Reid?
All very excited at what he can offer. Is fighting for a place with J Williams (who’s handy as a second ruck) so I doubt he sees regular games this year

His best hope for a game is for one of Oscar Allen or Waterman to get injured.
Hes not a ruckman btw, hes a KPF.
We have Jack Williams who is our primary ruck/fwd, but if Jack gets injured Archer will have to contend with Bailey Williams as the replacement.

Im not picking him

Sounds just like the loop captain I'm looking for.

Is pickable as RF.

Judging by the extra running he was doing all pre-pre season with mids like McKercher and Phillips, Xerri is likely to increase his average, which sounds pretty hard, but I reckon is a lock.

I like the 'set n forget' rucks, so Gawn and Xerri fit that bill.

Trouble is that there's a fair bit of value in starting Darcy who I expect to go around a 95-105 average, the $380k saving over Xerri get's me a keeper over a mid pricer that would need to be upgraded. Darcy really has to be started as trading him in costs a trade plus the inevitable trade cost when he gets injured, so 2 trades as against one if he's in the starting team.

Jackson is the obvious bail out option who would see a boost when Darcy goes down. Which then begs the question of when or if one of those two should be upgraded, seems like round 13 would be ideal as a luxury upgrade to Xerri coming off his bye. I really don't like locking in trades with such a small window, all manner of things can go wrong which take priority. The other thing to bear in mind was Xerri's finish to last year where he went a 138 average over the last 6 games, that's a fair bit to hedge against.

I honestly dont see LJ having a massive impact on Darcy's Role/Scoring.. One is 1st ruck, the other rucks when Darcy is on the pine. Might be the odd minute here or there were Jacko is rucking and Darcy is resting forward - but it just doesnt happen as much as the media would have you believe. Darcy decision is mostly about his body, not who is backing him up.

Yep LJ doesn’t worry me at all, just Darcy’s body. I’m keen to start with him for a risk, I think it’s definitely worth it. Can always downgrade to LJ if it doesn’t work out and Darcy has such a nice run to start the season.

this is the same end result in either scenario

Just found my bargain R2.
This bloke has won the SANFL equivalent of a Brownlow, Norm Smith & GA (coaches award) + premiership player with State rep & AllSANFL team awards.
Someone tag me when he's added to fantasy at $230k. 🤑
Then I can go spend Marshall money.
I'll grab Marshall when he gets fwd status round 6.

Hopefully he doesn’t play as someone into Marshall but feels like the most likely of basement rucks to play. I tend to like a ruck/fwd though so (assuming not named rd 1) interesting choice him vs a WC basement dpp (esp with WC run of Sunday games for loophole)
