Will go with the 3 ruck strategy - at this stage its Xerri, English and Cameron. Subject to change.

Knew I forgot to put that player in my team the last few seasons.
‘Flukey Luck’, think he is only a fwd this season.
Will probably score a few 100’s with goals after the siren to win the game the way scaling works.

I was listening to a podcast the other night .....the coach had the (C) on Gawn the week he went 180 ....he had the pre-game fitness on a hammy IIRC ....every switched on coach jumped off Gawn, but because this coach was out on a family outing, he missed the news & got Gawn's (C) score
I also was out on a family outing and missed LDU pulling out 3 min B4 a game ....and I copped his donut
This is the definition of luck .....I obviously missed the handout

I think we all know bad luck stories for those who have played 5 years or more. Too many to count now.
Last season for me it was spending 6-8 trades on rucks due to bad press releases on their injuries.
Which should have the same rules as EPL where they have press embargoes. And only release information once it is confirmed.
Not the gossip type press we have here in OZ, where the award goes to first to say something, even if incorrect.
With so much money in the game now involving the gambling industry especially being the media and the press’s major sponsors advertisers.
Really there should be penalties for making up or inventing the news instead of confirming facts.
I call for a Royal Inquest!!!
If only we could get the gambling lobbyist’s out of the halls of parliament.

Not worried that in this scenario (without a R/F) that you're locked into the Flex position without any way to manoeuvre (except trade out)?

Except you can manoeuvre out like any other position using an R/F in your R3
Flex Ruck to R3 .....R3 R/F to Flex, and then swap with any FWD (assume bench fwd)

If you do this you're left with 3 premo rucks R1, 2 and 3 meaning one of their scores doesn't count (assuming it's not a bye Rd and all 3 are playing).

You only make that move if one of your R1 or R2 have a 1 week injury / suspension
And you can trade someone out then back in again not costing a trade. A r/f at r3 is not essential.
Maybe it is later in the year but not to start.

Getting scared not owning Gawn, pretty keen on the 3 premo ruck Gawn/Xerri/TDK combo, but if Flynn gets through the preseason matches, does well, and plays rd1, you just gotta take him as the flex.

For you guys using the Flex for points (rather than $...I currently have Boyd [without too much thought going into it]), do you still plan to have a non-playing loop early? Or just winging/risking a straight up Cap'n?

Happy to go in with 31 green dots. Cash gen is key. Ideally Boyd plays, makes some quick money, then you can trade him down to a ruck/fwd donut.
No loop for me. I'll have injuries or dropped rookies by the time the early byes are done.

No point focusing on the number of rookies tbh. If you're leaning towards GnR and taking top-liners, you gotta load up on rookies, no choice, so it's not really an issue. You're backing the expensive players you pick to out-perform the midpricers others take.
For comparison my MPM side has the following under $313k:
D: Sinn, Trav
M: Lalor, NOD, Jagga
F: Daniel
FLX: Flynn
So 4 or 5 rookies on field, depending on how you classify Sinn. It makes sense that a side leaning towards GnR will have 6 to 7.

Anybody got the balls to take a key forward now that flex can offset any low scores? There's a handful that are priced very nicely and appeal. I don't think I have the balls, but it would be a big power move, especially if you got a 2021 Tex Walker start. Naughton? Thilthorpe? Larkey? the King brothers?

I reckon if he can stay on the park, he'll be a decent medium-term cash cow. Can't see him going above 70-75, or having huge spike games, but he could be enough at D5/D6 until you can upgrade him.

In this scenario, there is no pivoting from the flex position, unless you are using a trade on one of these four players (or in the unlikely event one gets DPP mid-season).
Are coaches happy to lock themselves into this scenario????
I'm big on a playing R3, cash gen is king.
But the above scenario and lack of flexibility scares the bejesus out of me, which is why I've shifted to Flynn at R2 and no ruckman in the flex position.
