Loved his press conference midweek essentially playing dumb that he didn't even know we release an injury list each week.
Couple weeks back he made it clear he doesn't care about the gamblers who complain about it.

And on Fri Night Nathan Buckley said that he wished he did the same when he was coach. That the public doesn't deserve the information and applauded Scott for treating injury reporting with the disdain it deserves.

I fully agree with both. I don't deserve to know your health information so why do you deserve an AFL players?

Keep it up GFC.
Love your work, Art, but yeah, nah.
If he wants to change the process, the way to go about that is to petition city hall, not to put on his rugged individualist britches on and just decide he'll break away from the herd and make a mockery of the process other clubs adhere to.
It's pissweak exceptionalism from Scott.
But at the end of the day, irrelevant if it has no consequences, and it obviously doesn't given he does it every week for a cheeky little adrenaline rush and AFL HQ just throws up the jazz hands

That's fine, I know I am, and they are going against the grain to the popular view.

He doesn't do the injury updates though, and Bruhn aside we've had players TBC for weeks and not a care in the world or in many cases a blurb on their progress in weekly articles.

Its very clear as a club they don't care what others think on the matter. Scott just treats journo questions with utter disdain on the topic. But someone higher up, probably Mackie or Hocking are deciding to not be forthcoming with precise injury updates.

I've been saying for years on the Geelong board that injuries are easy for fans.
When you see a player listed on the AFL/VFL teamsheet on Thu Night they've returned from injury. If they're not there then they're still out.

Yeah for me, he has actively.chosen to be the public face of refusing to adhere to the policy in place.
Sheer insolence, but if you come down on their side of the argument, I can see why you would be OK with it.
But in terms of the issue itself, can't really argue your points and if all teams went about it that way and those were the common ground rules, all good. Agree in terms of your base logic.
My main point around the whole thing is that it's a competition that has to have the buy-in of all teams that everybody is prepared to abide by the same rules.
There's one mob that refuses to

If we get whacked for being the only one going against the grain so be it.
Can't really complain if we're giving less than what they want us to.

Given the Wreck it Ralph and Cleary have made a fuss of it, it was put to the GM of Footy today Andrew Mackie apparently.

the tl;dr version is Scott only cares about who's available - not how long until they are available. That's all he asks from the doctors. Who can I select at match committee.
And he said that their view is that the reporting of TBC is used when they aren't sure on the timeline and would rather say TBC than guess a date/round and be wrong.

Hayden Young with Erasmus / NOD flow-on if you're thinking of going there.
