Even if they are no good?

I personally think Evans is no good . Would prefer give someone less tried a go, in a position of greater need. If we didnt like any, would have been happy to keep the list spot open.

That's my take. I was hopeful on McMahon Phillips and DGB at start of pre season but all have been underwhelming

We need to prepare for life without Tom. My mail is 100% gone to Saints as he chases the dollar and SOS is all over him.

He can **** off for all i care if he doesn’t want to commit and history shows they rarely sign on when the contracts are always put on hold. If he wanted to stay he would of been locked in already.

Since when have his contract talks been put on hold? All he said was he's not rushing, and that he's leaving those discussions to his manager while he focuses on the season.

History shows there are shitloads of players who take the same line during preseason who end up staying exactly where they are.

They way I look at it we are in the window and our best 30ish is set. We have enough youth. SSP is a depth back up. If it's true we pick Evans he can play small forward or running defender and is ready to play if needed.

I don't know him at all but I believe professionalism and personal character must be a factor as hopefully he is playing at lot of VFL and assisting our younger players

Played 17 games for PA last year, including the last 11 games. Port fans were surprised he was delisted.
I think we'd be better off taking a punt on another developing KPP if we didn't like the ones we trialled.

The fact that Durdin DGB McMahon Phillips were trialled and that there is a number available elsewhere (Van Es Baldwin Tomlinson Weideman etc) and we haven't picked any says to me the MC doesn't rate any or doesn't see the need

Ultimately I don't think this season hinges on our 5th string depth small forward anyway, so if us picking up Evans is going to be an issue in terms of the list I think it's because we've ran into massive issues elsewhere.

Best 25-27 is good enough with a few youngsters hopefully to round that number out to 30 by the end of the year. If Evans is sitting around 30-35 and has to play a handful of games so be it.

Realistically we'd all be hoping that none of the SSP train ons would have been getting a game this year because the rest of our squad would be healthy enough to avoid them

Evan is a slightly strange decision given some of the holes on our list

Weitering, Young and a developing O'Farrell as KPDs

3rd talls, some of which have struggled and or new to the role. Haynes, Kemp, Jsos

Lemmey, while it's easier to play as a defender, not sure he has the aggression or intensity to play the role

Won't have a massive impact no matter which way we go, but you'd hope Weitering and Young stay healthy

Played all finals games and was terrible (at least on the stat sheet). Only PF was as sub.
