He'd be a good get at Essendon. Pretty much at the point they grabbed Caldwell. Probably only cost third round pick at the moment. Especially if he's on minimum chips and not in our future best 22.

Hawks the new Cats?
Don’t appear to have a salary cap.
Ahhhh, I forgot. It’s the crèche. Not that Windy’s got kids - that I know of anyway.

I do want to clarify I’m not ITK or anything, and not claiming to be. The stuff about the dons and hawks someone told me a lot earlier in the year, and even he apparently heard from someone else.

I’m only just posting here because of the SEN article as it seems like perhaps what he told me was true.

Makes me wonder if there's more to this than meets the eye?

Could the club lowballing his best mate Windy really be causing grief for Nas?
You'd bloody well hope not because the fix is real simple.....

Wonder how many of the pay NVM whatever he wants for however many years he wants and kick the can down the road are the same ones sticking it to the club over Windy

I like the kid but Windy hasn't shown anywhere near enough to get his pay day. I'd sign Hall all day ever day over Windy with what they have shown so far as of this year. Which is what we did so a tick for me in the SOS box.

If Windy doesn't want to buy in and put his head down then by all means test the market.

You're starting to see what happens on the edges when trying to negotiate and allocate excessive TPP to players without long term commitments.

No-one is saying pay him star money but if he feels slighted it's not a good look. I'd say Windy has overtaken Owens this year and if you watch highlights he's in an extraordinary amount of our best plays.

He's tracking the same as guys like Travis Boak, Jack Steele, Chad Warner, Hugh McLuggage types that the same age. No reason that he can't become a very high level mid with time.

It really does stuff up our bargaining position offering star money to promising GOPs. Windy would think he's well ahead of Aleer and deserves equal money.

Rumours on this board for months that Windy has been offered unders. Where theres smoke...

I see Lenny in Windy, not the exact same player - but a heart and soul type who will more often than not carry the team on his back when it gets tough.

Where there's smoke there's people waxing lyrical on the forum and the media sniffing around caue they have nothing better to do than cherry pick talking points cause we know they read here, it's been in many a newspaper and on many a news cycle.

People need to chill sometimes and play some connect four.

What’s he worth?

What’s the apparent offer?

Somewhere in the $450k to $700k range depending on what others offer. His next contract probably his big earner. Someone like WCE might offer him $750k or something to get a young mid in and push us up.

Henny Penny board.

This waiting is excruciatingly torturous….

We’ve got the doomsdayers
The eternal optimists
and the bipolars like me who change their minds every half hour.

😳

There is always going to be a bracket of players that don't get paid there market worth in a champion team.

I'd suggest Windy sit down and have a chat to Wilkie.

To me Windy falls into the bracket ( at this stage ) of the ones you have to try to squeeze the most out of and as a club you make the decision that if money is the driving factor for that player then best of luck to test the market no hard feelings.

Not to offend anyone but I am just scrolling past any post with any trade discussions -

1. I absolutely refuse to acknowledge the fact NAS might leave
2. Makes me get through all the pages I’ve missed in at least a quarter of the time I might normally do.

Take my advice, you’ll thank me later….
got me thinking, should have something here like at disgrace book where you can type in words that you have no interest in reading about,in my case god lord christ jesus etc at fb

but here,it would be pure bliss to delete any post with richo ratten trout pelican dunstan billings acres mccartin petracca bont jsos(along with any other injury riddled bog ordinary campaigner from another team that someone is surely only trying to torment me with)hickey longer heeney bruce bains gallagher

As always, we do tend to fall in love with and overrate our players.
It’s what we do.

Also, judging by the quote, when Hall signed, he’s grasping his opportunity now…his time for the big contract will come. Great attitude.

Disagree, this is how you let guys walk and never get anyone into that missing age bracket. We then go and pay up big for similar level players gambling they might have more potential. At some point we need to see an end game and a competitive side.

I agree, if we lose NAZ may as well let Windy walk, Chito as well, can trade Tauru and Hall as well.

If any of this is true, FMD, just over it.
Big if.
Hang in there.

How does Brad Hardie know this?
The same guy who, by the way, said we signed NAS a while back.

Hey, I dont know that much, granted, but $700 sounds overs.
Wouldn’t 550/600 over 2 years be a fair amount.

Hall has had to earn everything he has but is also year older than Windy. He's rare and will be well compensated. Windhager is a player on the cusp of rapid improvement. We need a pool of talent not one or two players. If we lose players before they develop we are in a constant rebuild.

SOS has that job. Keeping the player happy without over paying them.

And if we continue to overpay players we’ll find ourselves in salary cap strife sooner rather than later. They’re not players at their “big” payday yet.

Well maybe that’s what he’s trying to do.
I’d imagine if Windy isn’t happy with the first offer, there’ll be some negotiating happening.
But we have to keep the future in mind. If all our potential young players come good - and it’s looking fairly likely, we’re going to have a squeeze sooner rather than later.
