2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th

Im sorry I’ve been pretty positive and comfortable about throwing the money.

If (and I repeat if) 4x800k for Jsos is valid then we need a solid look internally at what we’re doing.

Moving beyond the wild conflict of interest, Jsos averages 12 games a season and he’s not getting healthier as he approaches 30.

I know people are pleased we’re being aggressive but this is petering over to being reckless. Happy to be proven wrong and if we get him that he’s healthy.

He's 27 currently so the "pushing 30" to suit your argument doesn't fly. He will be 31 when next out of contract which is perfectly adequate.

Not to mention that modern players are going to be playing for longer on average anyways, greater longevity & the extra experience is very valuable.

Hopefully for JSOS sake his body holds up.

I know a lot of Blues supporters including family. Most are just beaten by it all. They still have a big club fan base but not many are arrogant any more. Even when they were winning they were waiting to fall back down.

Those absolute ferals aren't most of them. I think it's become a way to get yourself noticed now and they do it for clicks.

I don't even find giving them shit enjoyable any more. It's like kicking an emaciated geriatric dog.

Their problem id guys like Mathesion. They got used to the Elliotts running the show, winning by buying flags and the corporate culture. They just didn't adapt to the AFL and equalisation with the big end of town with too much say.
Sounds like we have as many heavy hitters at the club, but ours just craves success, while Carlton big noises expect and think they are entitled to success, so integer with the running. Our get involved when asked.

I'm gonna zag here.

Had a great time with Essendon fans in the stands at our game, especially compared to Carlton fans (definitely the worst).

They've been ground down and humbled over time.
yeah feel like essendon fans are decent to us and don't make the same tired premiership jokes because the days since they last won a final retort is ready to go for them

they're decent

Surely we aren't putting Liam Stocker's very real and genuine mental health condition in the same category as a bloke with a very real and genuine drug problem?

That's a new low for BF as far as I'm concerned.

Wouldn't take Hollands even if the scum paid us.

Except drug addiction is a mental health condition ;)
Firmly agree with your last sentence, however.

Keeler is a forward who can play ruck. Dodson is the one in front of him. But since Marshall is more than likely to move on, why would we trade Heath unless Melbourne make an offer we couldn't refuse.
I keep seeing a bit that dodson is ahead of heath am i missing something heath has a lot better fwd craft, ruck craft, contested marking, and aggression. The only thing he has over heath is accumulation but doesnt impact much with his touches anyway. With the new jumping ruck rule coming I've seen heath jump surprisingly well where as dodson cant jump over a sheet of paper. Am I wrong?

Well said. Another dick swinging big end of town chest thumper with his finger in the Bloos pie.

I recall an Essendon supporter (after we beat them) standing at the top of the aisle shaking an imaginary tin at the Saints members.

The original nepo babies (fixturing) deserve no sympathy.

Q) What's the difference between Carlton and Essendon?
