McKenna & Frog moved from Rookie List to Primary List.
Does that mean they will take the other picks off us?And pretty much confirms 3 live picks at the draft.

No.Does that mean they will take the other picks off us?
Leaving us with only 3 to take to the draft?
No.
Rookie upgrades are completed after the National Draft, just not listed by the AFL.
We will take 5 picks to the draft, with the final 2 picks, after they have been used for points, committed to rookie upgrades.
Jeez this is confusing - thankfully you understand this stuff Briztoon! No.

Which bit? That a 33 year old, 231 gamer, two-time premiership players can be on the rookie list? That’s, surprising.

Uncontracted player. Free to nominate for the national or preseason draft on the financial terms he wants.whats the latests with cal archchee?
No. That we didn't nominate the two players on our Cat B rookie list to upgrade.Which bit? That a 33 year old, 231 gamer, two-time premiership players can be on the rookie list?![]()
Twomey did say rookie list to primary list. So, we could still move Brain and/or Reville to the Cat A listNo. That we didn't nominate the two players on our Cat B rookie list to upgrade.
I realised that. I was just too lazy to type and clarify everything.Twomey did say rookie list to primary list. So, we could still move Brain and/or Reville to the Cat A list
Nah, they don't allocate picks for rookie upgrades any more (last time that happened was 2013) and the list spots needed for the rookie upgrades aren't included as draft picks in the final draft order as the upgrades are done prior to the draft.No.

Jeezus that does it - I am completely confused now!Nah, they don't allocate picks for rookie upgrades any more (last time that happened was 2013) and the list spots needed for the rookie upgrades aren't included as draft picks in the final draft order as the upgrades are done prior to the draft.
For example last year Melbourne went to the draft with three live picks (5, 9, 79) as well as moving two rookies to the primary list prior to the draft. They ended up using all three picks at the draft and didn't have to use any of the picks for their rookie upgrades.
I’m not sure that is correct, because I remember Gil in his predraft ramble actual say that rookie upgrades will occur after the draft, but won’t be listed on the night.Nah, they don't allocate picks for rookie upgrades any more (last time that happened was 2013) and the list spots needed for the rookie upgrades aren't included as draft picks in the final draft order as the upgrades are done prior to the draft.

That being the case, can you explain what happened with Melbourne last year? I did check the final draft order.I’m not sure that is correct, because I remember Gil in his predraft ramble actual say that rookie upgrades will occur after the draft, but won’t be listed on the night.
And if they didn’t allocate picks for rookie upgrades, then we would only have three picks to take in to this years draft.

Also if you take into consideration the upgrades we've made, we'd have 33 players on the senior list which would allow five picks in the draft as we'll have two less rookie players. The senior list numbers can be between 36-38 depending on whether you have 4-6 category A rookies. Just the final total has to be the same.
And I guess since we don't officially sign Murphy until the rookie, that counts as a spare senior spot as well.
My bad on that. It was a quick google search at work. That order is as of September 29, the rookie upgrades happened in November closer to the draft.
