Wouldn't be unhappy with an offseason like this:

Tom De Koning > STK
~Pick 9 > CARL

Jack Silvagni > STK
~Pick 19 > CARL

Pick 62 > FREM
Liam Reidy > CARL

Blake Acres > WCE
Campbell Chesser > CARL

Elijah Hollands + Mitch McGovern > PORT
Pick 42 > WBD
Buku Khamis + Adam Treloar > CARL

Jacob Blight (DFA) > CARL

We'd probably look at splitting ~Pick 9 due to a bid Dean potentially coming prior - could look at the Roos Pick 20 + Pick 21.

Nothing confirmed from the club but it seems like Kemp, Haynes and Evans have new deals coming soon.

Leaves Motlop, McGovern, F.Young, White, Charleson and Monahan unsigned going into 2026.
of those, i expect Motlop, F Young and Charleson to get offers

White Im not sold on but Im not going to complain if he gets a spot

McGovern will be interesting as I can understand why you keep him for cover but if we have other options I suggest he will depart

Monhahan woudl be unnoticeable either way tbh

Our "organic" 2nd round pick is with the Hawks this year, but we have Brisbane's. Assuming they finish 3rd, that's pick 34 as of today.

If the Jack compo is end of round 1, that is at best pick 21 (given TDK and OA would be before) and most likely later before the draft starts. Pick 34 would then be pick 37 (but would end up being later).

21 and 37 = 1018 points
12 is worth 1140, 1026 after 10% discount applied

I would assume/hope we'd trade the TDK compensation for a 2nd rounder this year and a future first (assuming FS isn't canned for Cody Walker).

If Walker was to be pick 1, under this year's system you'd need picks 8 and 10 to get the sufficient points to match.
If walker was this year doubt those last two games woudl have been wins

List Overview. This is a harsh view i guess. Carroll may now be a first team player in some supporters eyes but up against Wilmot type half backs who can defend and attack vs Carroll (attack only), he is a back up at top 6 level. A first choice at a bottom 6 club maybe.

Carlton going nowhere in 2026 and stockpiling squad players at best.

First Team Quality for 2026
Cripps
Weitering
Saad
Haynes
Mckay
Hollands (Wing only)
Walsh
Cerra
Hewett
Motlop
Williams
Curnow
Jagga on pedigree only but im worried

Backup Level/Squad Players
Cowan
Boyd
Carroll
Evans
Pitto
HoF
HoK
Camporeale x2
Lord (simply due to over abundance ofi nside mids in a fast moving game dominated by turnover goals (Lord vs Cripps))
Charlson
Cottrell
Kemp (failed dfender...untried up forward
Moir (jury out until see more. comes across fluky)
Wilson
Flynn
Young
Buku/Chesser/Reidy

Delist/Trade
Fogarty
Durdin
Binns

God Knows what they are but Conditional players - don't want really
Acres
Mcgovern

Retire due to reset
Newman

If someone agrees to take him, it won’t be literally nothing, it will be a good faith move of a fringe player that the club is happy to move on, or a valueless (5th round) pick.
I am not convinced this is the case. Club has to win from this, that is where the bottom line will be drawn. If the club does not win, IMO he stays.

Will either be a big kick up the arse for him.

Or we use him to get what we want.

I dont see us offloading for nothing here.

Harsh is an understatement. Ridiculous denigration if some quality players who will only get better after another pre season

Do we still have matching rights if someone bids on him in the ND?
We do, the tuggers took a mature aged father/son a couple of years back so I’m assuming that it’d be the same as bidding on any other father/son.

Half their list was over 192. Something reasonable had to drop off their list to gain balance and it can't be last years first round draft picks
I hope we consider Blight. I think he’d be good depth for us. Or he might possibly do a Haynes and make himself a best 22 player.

Hi Guys...can you let me know if JSOS and TDK did a lot of ruck work teaming together whilst at Carlton?

Not at all in my memory.

Jack mostly rucked as a relief for Pitto

Did a quick check. They paired a few times, maybe 6-7.

Jack's highest HO count is 12 though. So he's not really a great option
