They might be cheap, but they are also not what we need. If they are the best we can get, we deserve to lose.cheap options and depth

Do you mean Curnow for Kozzie and Petracca the steak knives ?If Charlie’s management were half smart, they would be working on a Petracca trade.
Yep, I’m glad others have the same thoughts as myself…media love it and play on it, we have a shed load of great supporters and plenty of not so great.I agree, our fans 200% have an effect on players wanting to come to the club. We have some of the most toxic fans in the land and it def effects the playing group!!
Bruce is a good playerGeez, I’d like a Reville, Wilmot and a Bailey please.
Agree on Walter he needs to be part of any potential trade, if not involving West Coast with pick 2 their compensation pick makes sense, as heading to WA may be more appealing. Can't believe people think re cycling players is going to work for us...
Sugar hit at best... they'll have that extra bit of motivation to impress at their new club/last chance... then when the dust settles, they will return to their usual level of output.
Khamis - We can't give up anything higher than a 3rd rounder. 2nd rounders are too important this year and next.
Chesser a late third, early 4th rounder. Nothing more.
Reidy - token pick.
CJ - yeah nah... you don't chase contracted players that can't kick. There's a reason the Hawks want him out the door...
Need to focus on the future... we don't want our current young crop + Cody surrounded by duds, it will just be a repeat of the cycle.
GC need to pony up if they want Charlie. Forget about Humphrey, they will not trade him to us. Walter they are adamant won't be part of a trade, but if they're chasing Charlie, then it makes sense. If Walter doesn't want to come to Vic, then get the Eagles involved, he was a massive WCE fan.
To me, if GC are involved with trading Charlie it's 3 outcomes from likely to least likely:
- Charlie stays - GC won't come to the party and give us what we want. We have no obligation to trade him unless the player and club relationship is untenable behind the scenes.
- Charlie + #10 + #21 -> Walter + #7 + Flanders + F1. I've outlined why I think this works previously.
- Walter -> WCE, (WCE)F1 + #7 + (GC)F1 + Flanders -> Carlton, Charlie + #10 + #21 -> GC. We send Walter to his preferred destination and get the Eagles F1 in return. It's what I believe is the least likely but the most desirable outcome for us
Highly doubt you get Chesser for a late 3rd or early 4th.Can't believe people think re cycling players is going to work for us...

I agree the strategy is risky. But where else do we find our mid tier? Because at the minute we either never developed it (Stocker, Philp, O’Brien, Dow), we’ve traded it because it was too similar to what we already had (Kennedy, Carroll, Owies), or they’ve opted to leave (TDK, JSOS).Can't believe people think re cycling players is going to work for us...

Woodcock is a perennial candidateLike Oea for Southport.
Craig-Peters for Dogs
Liam Jones looks to have lost a yard and marking confidence
Been having a few puddings by the looks..Woodcock is a perennial candidate

Spot on.He's been in their team essentially all season. Seems a strange thing to do if you want him out the door? His disposal is nowhere near as bad as folks are making it. His career DE is like 79%. Id hazard a guess thats better than 3/4 of our list.
We’ve seen how valuable Rayner has been, bursts a game apart. A type we haven’t had since maybe Hamill.
Reville yes please, posted the same in the game thread. Not sure what he'd cost but it shouldn't be too expensiveGeez, I’d like a Reville, Wilmot and a Bailey please.
Francis Evans to unleash…?We’ve seen how valuable Rayner has been, bursts a game apart. A type we haven’t had since maybe Hamill.
Petracca and Humphrey would give us 2 game changers for a Curnow.
HOK/ Kemp/ Khamis would need to stand up to be the second tall. If we could break an elite small forward out like Hill or Bailey. We’d be back in the flag mix.
