Reckon Gov only a chance to stay if the Buku deal falls through, and maybe not even then.
There’s 4 unsigned (or at least unannounced) rookies.
And of the contracted senior players, maybe we move Binns or Acres or Fog?

I assume Ainsworth in means the final nail in the coffin for Elijah (delisted and paid out), and that if Khamis comes in, McGovern is definitely gone.
That still leaves us 3 Senior spots less one surplus rookie, but we could solve all those problems by upgrading Evans when drafting Dean and Ison.
Having said that, I don't expect all 3 of the other uncontracted rookies to be retained. Perhaps one is released so we have a SSP place (for Stephenson if he shows something)? Dunno. We might still want to be looking at a couple of our NGA guys for rookie spots too.
EDIT: Late to the party, as ever...
We could pickup Leek Alir for cheaper than we'd have to pay for Buku now that StKilda have shafted him.
Very similar stats (except buku can go forward - which isn't where we'd play him) and leek is 4cm taller.
If Lij and Gov go out and Buku comes in, it would be 4 Senior spots available, but 1 extra Rookie.
Not sure we’d leave a spot open for SSP.

Assuming a finishing position of pick 16, this year there is two FA compos for example, add 7 Tassie picks, that’s roughly 25.
I’m not saying it’s a good offer but the impact of the Tassie draft keeps growing
Davies this morning didn’t sound open to Aleer.
I said maybe 30s, rather than mid 30s.
It’s likely there will be more than 2 compo picks, plus when you factor in FS/NGA/academy bids.
And that’s ignoring the pre-listed players taken out of the draft.

Going off your comments previously regarding list spaces, does the lack of list spaces make a multiple player trade for Charlie unrealistic?
Hayward and Florent for example plus picks, does that type of trade contradict our available list spots?
Was also wondering why we wouldn’t give Hollands until May to sort his life out, he’s contracted so we have to pay him regardless, why not put him in the VFL and ask him to take a weekly drug test or something to be able to play?
If he fails, you move him on and open up a MSD pick, if he fixes his crap, we have a quality player

Yes, you're right. Maybe we use a third National Draft pick as well as upgrading Evans.
I don't like the idea of locking down our rookie list on 21 November, but I guess we might. Flynn Young deserves another 12 months to build on what he has shown so far, and Charleson is still young.
If it were me, I would cut White and ask him to train on against Stephenson and whoever out of Gresham/Clarke goes undrafted, and pick up the best one in the SSP.
I don’t think multiple players for Charlie is unrealistic, we’d just have to cut (or maybe trade) an extra player or two.
But it is tight. If we brought in 2 players for Charlie, and Buku, we’d have no available list spots, and would have to cut or trade at least 3.
Re: Lij, I have no idea but all the messaging is he won’t be at Carlton next year.
Yeah, I’d be surprised and disappointed if we cut any of Frank, Charleson or Flynn Young.
I like WW too, but he’d be the 4th ranked of the unsigned rookies.
Maybe we get a late offer for one of the contracted players we’d be happy to move on?
Cutting Frank now would be insanity. Not just because of his form in the 2nd half of the season, but because it would kill our culture to trade out someone who has put their body on the line and really played for the jumper.
He's done everything right. Needs to be rewarded, if even for a 12 month contract.
And we still have Khamis (potentially) and Hayward (potentially) to add.
So if Elijah and Gov are gone, that'll open up a few spots, but I suspect that at least one of White or Flynn will be cut, probably White. Charleson would be very stiff, thought he showed a lot of promise in the VFL. They will be tough calls though.
It also means that there's probably little scope to bring in a DFA, although we may possibly only take 2 in the ND (Dean and Ison), and trade one of our 1st rounders into next year.

Wouldn’t HOF be on the LTI list for next year which would open up another spot (until he returns ) ?
Inactive List now. Think they need to be out for the entire season vs swapping out with another player, say in July.
Could replace over the SSP if he was having an extended rehab.
