Tbh he’s right this time. We aren’t getting Warner and Pickett without giving up something significant.

When was the last time a team traded a gun player out to bring in two gun players though. It doesn’t work like that in the real world and never has. Freo just won’t get both players - they’ll get one at best.
Could take it as a positive with the Warner thing I guess and that he keeps hearing we are right in the race. Clearly someone massively valuable has to go to even get a sniff at both

We have the salary and picks to get Kozzie now. Trading Jackson frees up salary and means we give up less for Kozzie, therefore picks for Warner.

It's highly unlikely, I mean extremely unlikely, but it makes sense.

That’s exactly right. There are a few on this board that think the something “significant” being given up to get both in, means we might have to reluctantly part ways with Sam Switkowski for a first rounder!
And maybe throw Neil Erasmus in for good measure too.
Delusional of course.

If Pickett and Warner come in that means an A grader type goes out. A player of Jackson’s stature fits the bill.

Basically would you swap Jackson for Warner?

If that's the case, then clubs would also ask about Darcy and SA clubs would ask about Cox.

I have no issue with Melbourne trying, clubs are supposed to try and bring in assets, it's business.

Melbourne and Vic clubs asking is highly likely real and that's understandable, it's not a pr stunt, it's just business.

Do I think we'd entertain if Warner wasn't coming with Kozzie? No.

If you think this is highly likely real, then I have a few bridges to sell you.

This is nothing more than a dummy spit from Melbourne over Pickett and fabricating a bullshit story using a club mouth piece in Cleary (look at his contrived Petracca "I love the footy club" post from a week ago).

Nope. Clubs chase good players, that's nothing new. If he leaves or not, there's nothing wrong with asking the question

Keep your bridges.

“Victorian clubs feel the door is ajar for Jackson to have his head turned.“

Mitch, that is just such a useless nothingburger of a sentence.

If the angle is his partner is based over there just come out and say that. Saying that there we can’t afford Kozz and Warner without giving up something significant is self evident.

I’m hoping Darcy comes back in a month or two, has a decent season and we trade him to the cats for a first and some change

Why? We need Darcy.

To answer the question if Jackson wanted to leave then getting a Warner is as good as you are ever going to get in trade so you probably do it. If he didn't want to leave, no, I think Jackson is going to have a massive year.

I would need an incredible journeymen back-up to replace Reidy as well though.

1. Did you see Ready today? We need Darcy
2. If he has a good year, why would we want to trade him
3. He is contracted for a number of years and is entering his prime as a ruckman. We have every right to demand three first rounders or at least two plus change in the unlikely event we trade him.

In reality I think we’ve seen the best of Sean. We need him but we never get him. Dude is an albatross.

Still think if you're moving quality, Cox is the one because Draper looks mint. We have no such cover for Darcy.

Not that I think the club will push anyone out.
Doubt Cox is enough, he'd need a pretty big year (today was as a good step back to his best though I thought).

That could work too. Cox has a baby, although I think his partner is from WA, but he might be okay with going home.

Easy enough. If Battle and McKay are commanding the deals they got I am sure Cox would have suitors for days if clubs got a sniff he might be available.

I’ve always said it but Cox is the best option. You’ve seen what the market is like for decent KPDs. He’d definitely have takers for good money and we’d get decent return with his contract (provided he has a 2022 like year injury free)

I want Freo to win a premiership. Therefore I am not trading any KPPs. We spend years complaining about our KPPs and then we finally have good ones and now people want to trade them out? If we didn't have Cox today we'd have had Davies being our primary KPD alongside I'm assuming Murphy? Cold shiver.
