Id trade our first pick.Seriously. I think Rogers is an absolute gun and has hurt factor with ball in hand. He played a lot as a sub last year. so his stats don't do him justice. He is in my opinion the classiest player not playing regular AFL currently. Here is an example of what Im talking about.


Rogers reminds me a bit of where Dean Laidely was at years ago with WC. He is severely restricted by not being able to play his ideal role of on ball wing due to who he competes against to get a game. Eg Laidely competing against Worsfold and Mckenna.

The main restriction is not who he is competing with, it's his tiny size. He really is a midfielder more than a small forward, and you have to be crazy good to make it as an AFL midfielder at his size.

He has yet to really show any indications of being a good small forward at AFL or VFL level. That's not to say he couldn't be good, but he's not being groomed there in the VFL (1 goal in 7 games in 2025, all listed as starting wing/hb) and as such is an unknown quantity.

More likely he would be a smaller version of Switta than a gun goal kicker. Which might still be useful considering Switta's injury history and importance to the side.

But I doubt we can sell him on more opportunity, as I wouldn't have him in our best 23 at full strength. He'd be competing with Dudley to fill an injury vacancy.

The picks in the 50s are decent enough to actually be used by someone on draft night so it's about as good as we could've expected.

Hopefully a similar trade happens for Brodie (Port only a couple of spots up in the third round). It probably won't change anything in terms of what player we draft but it's still useful compared to a single draft pick in the 4th/5th round we won't use.

Pretty much this, why do you think they all rate Brodie so highly? They read the stats and don't watch him play. If they did they'd see we're losing nothing by trading both of them.

FWIW, the Reidy trade has moved us ahead of GWS for total points, once the Rosas trade goes through, Sydney will drop behind us as well, Walls is working his way up the order baby.

It's only valid for people who dont watch Peel, which, to be fair, is most.

Anyone who watched Meek and Reidy at Peel knows the difference. 3 games at AFL probably isnt enough for the average supporter to realise how far off AFL Reidy is.
