Downgrading our first round pick to get an out of contract player, especially coming off an average season.....

I'm keen on McVee and excited to grab him, but this was not at all necessary.

So basically McVee is costing us pick 33 AND a 7 pick slide from 12 back to 19.

Not exactly a bargain based on the lie of the land in terms of him being OOC etc.

Happy to give the recruiting team the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. There wasn't a gun held to their heads to make this trade, there would have been other options to get a pick to trade for McVee so it's not the end of the world yet.

Twomey already said losing 33 as part of it and looking at the picks, the only waylosing 12 and 33 is reasonable if we dont get 16 is getting 19,22 and 23

That 33 is a very hidden gut punch. That's, at best, 12 & 33 For 19 and McVee. Definitely not the worst we've been shafted but it's a shafting nonetheless even it's minor.

But his first tweet also suggested we’d slide from 12 to one of the Eagles picks (22 or 23) as opposed to 19.

I don’t think he currently knows the whole trade and is bizarrely assembling the news in public for some reason (I guess to report it first?)

We're really stoned and think that 23 is better than 12 because it's a higher number.
