Yep, can see teams talking to him to see if he changes his mind.Things can certainly change, but if Adelaide are offering money and success I don't see many other teams having that available for him. Crows missing out of Wanganeed-Milera and the over a million they had aside for him, while finishing top, opened the door for a unique position.
I'm sure all the clubs at the bottom can afford him, but he doesn't need to go to them to get paid.
Putting aside Brisbane shooting themselves in the foot, it feels crazy that Adelaide and Ah Chee's management are seemingly relying on the non-dickhead armistice btwn clubs to stop 1 of 13 clubs selecting him before them. There's been at least a fracturing of that today. Adelaide can play with the contract however they want, they can't stop West Coast matching that contract.

I'm imagining the spit flying from between his gritted teethI'd love to be a fly on the wall watching Sam Mitchell throw an almighty toddler tantrum right about now.
They're saying under the rules he is allowed to go to the PSD with a contract that is front loaded so heavily that no other club will be prepared to pick it up

I heard that part and it'd stop clubs like us. But there are some clubs that have been generationally rubbish for a long time now, and I'm not sure who they're paying if any sort of front-load stops them. They're saying under the rules he is allowed to go to the PSD with a contract that is front loaded so heavily that no other club will be prepared to pick it up
Likely to train with us over summer and we will make a call after thatcan we still get Harry Boyd?
Right? Merritt's manager had a quality melt on camera. He missed out on a big pay day.I'd love to be a fly on the wall watching Sam Mitchell throw an almighty toddler tantrum right about now.
They'll get a first rounder through academy this year alreadyI know Sydney have a couple of academy kids and the drafts are slightly compromised particularly 2027. But they’ve given up a **** load for one guy, and they need to replace that depth and won’t have firsts for three years..
Curnow better be worth it

Got to say after all I've said about Ah Chee, can't believe a future second rounder wasn't accepted, especially with the rumoured steak knives thrown in.
Bizarre move by Brisbane really. Slightly unders for an out of contract player seems better than losing him for nothing.
Worth a early-mid second rounder at best given his age and ability.
can we still get Harry Boyd?
such a grub, don't think ZM is going to take kindly to this either.
didn't we offer a super deal to Bont, so we must also have some very juicy cap space for the next two years for the right person?I heard that part and it'd stop clubs like us. But there are some clubs that have been generationally rubbish for a long time now, and I'm not sure who they're paying if any sort of front-load stops them.
Teakle from East Freo? I was sad when we didn't get him (if it is the same person)Both him and Teakle are going to train on and compete for one SSP spot apparently
